'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Well the system has been tailored because Dobbs can not throw it downfield.
In Cincinnati, this offense produced an 1100, 680, and 770 yard receivers.
At Central Michigan, this offense had an 1100, 990, 1100 yard receivers.

Its not the offense, its the QB.

I agree that Dobbs lacks, but I don't agree he's the whole problem. We need to use the whole field more. We've opened up the offense on several occasions when trailing and it looked totally different..

So now anyone can be an insider. If your predictions don't pan out, just scream the recruit lied and it was a lot of misinformation. Built in not my fault. Game on. LOL

If they admit fault, they'll lose subscriptions. That's why they're pushing the "he lied" stuff.

If he's the one throwing the ball, then he is the problem. People site the UGA game, but a lot of those throws he made were great catches by the receivers, not great throws by Dobb's.

This.... And JG is going to change everything that people feel is wrong with this system. Hopefully it changes this year with an improved Dobbs and gameplan.

Every year college football offers surprises. I wouldn't speak so fast. Just last year at this time people were giving Auburn a spot in the playoffs.

Based on a 4 year recruiting average, Auburn has more talent. They're at home. And they'll have people telling them for months they're gonna get crushed.

I have Auburn winning that game.

I wasn't. Don't you talk about how that doesn't matter once they're on campus or is that just concerning Tennessee?

Not really. Being a fan is to be irrational.

Sorta like patriotism. We have tons of objective markers saying that there are many countries better than the United States in healthcare, education, infant mortality, happiness, etc.

That still won't stop nearly every American from screaming USA USA and screw those other countries.

Same with sports. Being a fan is to literally be a FANATIC. Common sense or reason be damned.

Didn't you say you only follow teams doing well and you enjoy watching? True fanatic there.

Seems silly to be so sure JG will change anything before he even takes a snap. Same stuff was said about Jones easily overtaking Dormady. Quinten stayed #2 and Jones transferred then came back. People so sure JG is the next Heisman winner are the same ones saying other SEC teams with New QBs are taking a step back. Odd.

If we have a guy putting up stats like that, we will have no problem getting elite WRs to come to UT.

Yeah well I never said any of that, and people have different opinions too. Piss off

Out of respect for others I won't quote the special needs poster but you claim that VQ would spoil his announcement by dropping hints so he lied to them while he didn't lie to the national analyst who actually did spoil his announcement. Real sound logic here.

24 hours later and this still stings. We still lack our 2017 recruiting class cornerstone like we have had in summer's past. Maleik Gray is a fantastic pickup but he is not the cornerstone to a great class.

I really hope we see serious improvement in the passing game this season. I love a strong, powerful running game as much as the next guy, but we need a complimentary passing game to be an elite program. Hopefully that changes this fall and we see Preston and Malone play like the 5* studs they were made out to be.

I think that is exactly what Gray is. The cornerstone to this class.

17 and 18 year old kids. Gonna happen. Would not be a bit surprised if he was behind the Turtle troll job.

In the end this was a business decision. It's all about 3 years from now and getting paid top $$$

"Turtle troll job" how did he troll? He was right lol, Unlike most other Tennessee insiders. It's funny, when someone accurately predicts a commitment to another school he's a labeled as a troll.

Is anyone forgetting that Higgins basically led Butch and the staff on then lied about it? I mean Butch was probably just as shocked as all of us when he committed to Clemson. Doesn't that make you question his character? Not being butt hurt but it was kind of a douche move on Higgin's part.

It happens. I'd imagine there have been several UT commitments over the last few years who felt shocked when they had a spot, then they didn't. They may have felt lied to. Sort of a douche move. Does that mean character is an issue for those dropping commits to make room? Interesting being cool when it's us, and not when it doesn't go our way.

I thought nsd was in February He committed to us once, flipped, now ther is plenty of time to get him back. Lets see how the season plays out.

Cause Butch is the only coach that drops commitments? Lmao Higgins gave all the indications that he was leaning towards Tennessee and Butch was probably 99% sure that he had him. Not to mention it wasn't too long ago that Tennessee was his leader then committs to Clemson out of no where. Why not just tell Butch in person that he's going elsewhere instead of leading him on? Douche move by Higgins regardless what you say.

"I was surprised by yesterday. Obviously we were getting a different feeling from people we felt were connected to his recruitment and those people were surprised. I think the family wanted it a surprised and told alot of different things.

I think it's safe to day that several at Tennessee were surprised yesterday when it was Clemson."

Kid wanted his moment. If they wanted it to be a surprise, it was.

Politely saying him and his family lied to quite a few people.

In my opinion Tee was a silent to Butch at OCD because he was afraid to tell him face to face about Clemson. He knew he could announce later and would not have to face him man to man after that weekend. OCD is such a special event for Vol Nation and Tee knew that thus choosing the easy route to make Butch think he had landed him. GFW and others confirmed the silent, therefore all of us had a sense of comfort yesterday. Tee knows by playing at Clemson he will have a chance to stand out more week in and week out due to the low level of competition. I am not saying he is afraid of competition, but he seems to want the quickest path to the NFL and seems worried the SEC is too hard of a road. What Butch Jones has done with this program is remarkable and losing Tee is not going to change that and honestly probably not really going to hurt us as much as we think it is. Hunter, Amari and Tee are in state guys that are not ready (at least in their own minds) for SEC football week in and week out. I do not blame Tee for picking Clemson at this point but I agree that the way he did it was childish. Being afraid to man up when things are not easy to do is a trait that I do not want in a Vol. We will be fine without Tee Higgins and I can't wait to see how many of these recruits are beating down Butch's door in January. Go Vols!

I thought it was stated that his mom didn't want him committed to the Vols and still taking visits back when he decommitted. That seems pretty stand up on her part if so. But now it seems the family was throwing both staffs off. I understand wanting your moment and all and even not being totally up front with recruiting services looking to make a dollar off of you. But I don't really understand he or his family intentionally misleading either staff. You don't have to intentionally lie. Though some don't like some of Butch's dropping of recruits, it does seem that he is up front with people. Just my thoughts. Maybe way off base?
