Well, I think it's more to effect change than to validate opinions. I don't subscribe to it, mostly because there's no way to know if it will create a positive change on the front end. In my opinion, I'll root for UT to win every game, but won't get all high and mighty to those fans who subscribe to what I've just described.

That said, it I knew then what I know now about Hart keeping Dooley another year until we got hammered by Vandy, I would have painted one butt cheek black and the other gold to get that clown out of here.

It's a little early to say "never" in my opinion. He's only 48. Saban wasn't dominant at 48. He has a lot of time to learn and improve. Hopefully he wins 9-10 games a year here and gets over that championship hump.

Honestly, I would bet that Akers has told some people that he's going to be a Vol. Whether it's recruits, players or coaches of Tennessee. And that's where this optimism comes from with Hubbs and Fortenberry. They just seem too optimistic but at the same time guarded, by continuing to say the Tennessee is up at the top with Florida State. All at the same time it seems no one else is giving Tennessee much of a chance. They don't say that kind of thing unless it's something they can confirm. But I also think they have to see it to believe it which is why they haven't come out and said we think Tennessee leads, imo.

Maybe that was a poor choice of words but that's the seat I sit in. I don't expect it but if he gets Tennessee to greatness again I won't be upset and say it shouldn't be Butch.

Most likely FSU from what I continue to hear today, Etiene might be offered by LSU depending how the rest of the class works out but that is not 100%.

The recruiting rankings take into account only the top 20 players in a class. A class with 100 recruits could be ranked lower than a class with only 20, if the top 20 recruits are not as highly regarded.

The emergence of quality players from that class is on par with other similarly rated classes.

Are you sure that's not just rivals? At any rate I would guess most of the other top classes from that year did better than our 2014 class

Edit: after looking at the class never mind but at any rate I don't think 247 rates just the top 20 commits

I really don't see the fascination with FSU. Sure, Cook is leaving but they have other talented RB's on their roster that could easily replace him. At least we have a better opportunity here for him to get more playing time. Especially since Hurd is gone and Kamara is most likely going to the draft.

True. My bad if I made it sound like that was the number owed by Fisher. I was trying to imply that with a buyout that large, the rest of his contract would likely be a pretty good incentive to stay put.

Apparently, Fisher would owe anywhere between $10-15M if he left.

Buyout if Fisher leaves: If he elects to leave, Fisher’s buyout is now the sum of all monies remaining on the contracts of his assistant coaches not retained by the university.

So, for example, if Fisher leaves, and the university retains none of ten coaches each making $500,000 on one-year deals, Fisher would owe the school $5M within 30 days. Given that many assistants are employed on two- or three-year contracts, it’s likely that this buyout number could be in the $10-15M range.

If that's the case, then who wouldn't be happy? Fulmer is a Hall of Famer. Neyland and Fulmer put UT football on the map. It is clear if you look at the history of our results.
