'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

Honestly, I love Akers comments about UGA. They could not possibly be more generic, and the favorable stuff is all his mom's opinions. Then at the end, he says he really doesn't have any questions for Georgia.

Polite, generic comments = not worried about the Pups.

How do we know Georgia sets anybody up for life after football? Kirby hasn't had a single kid graduate yet.

The answer to your question is the "Paul Oliver Network" established by Mark Richt during his time at Georgia. Anyone interested in learning more about it can Google it.

I would rather roll naked in broken glass and swim a mile in alcohol.

Tennessee:

“I definitely like tennessee a lot also you know. They are a traditional school, they are on the rise. I believe that this year, depending on the type of year they have, they could possibly take the sec east depending on how good they play.”

Akers went into further detail indicating he believed alabama and georgia to be the two schools known as “rbu” over all others in his mind. The running back also said he was leaning toward the vols winning the east with georgia serving as their primary contenders. The five-star prospect indicated he has studied the depth charts of each school in his top 10 and the opportunity to play early will likely be a factor in his final decision.

If the opportunity to play early will be a big part of his decision then it sounds like all we have to do is play like we should this season and he is ours.

Dont get why a rb would want to play early, save that tread for the league son!

Not sure if you're serious, but that isn't the attitude I want from my RB. I want a guy who wants the ball every snap from his first game as a freshman until the last game he plays.

Thats great but im talking reality here. I know no room for that on VN!

Fair enough. It's the same reality/mindset/attitude that vilified players like Jamal Lewis and Arian Foster in the minds of some fans during their respective final seasons at Tennessee though.

Who's Ga got behind Michele and Chubb, besides Evander's son? They have 2 fr.this year, right?

Tae Crowder is a redshirt freshman and is still learning to play RB. Brendan Douglas is a senior and is typically 3rd or 4th on the depth chart. Holyfield and Brian Herrien will be true freshman. Herrien was a late qualifier. If Chubb doesn't come back 100%, the RB position is going to be thin. Plus Sony has had two fractured bones already in just two seasons so who knows if he will remain healthy for the entire season. If Sony and Chubb both decide to go pro after this season, a RB like Akers will likely have a decent opportunity to play as a freshman.

Akers said he also will travel to Florida State on June 15-16 before making the trip to Tennessee, and he plans to visit Ohio State “sometime in July.”

...“FSU will probably be the most important because I haven’t been there,” said Akers...“They’re recruiting me well. (Florida State tight ends) coach (Tim) Brewster and (running backs) coach (Jay) Graham, they’re recruiting me well, so I just want to see and get a feel for the situation that could unfold, with Dalvin Cook probably leaving. The situation that could unfold could be a great situation.”
