'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

Yea and everyone acts like Cal is the best "coach" in college basketball. More like the best recruiter who can win with the talent he has.

The point of coaching is to win. If you win the most, you're the best coach. How you go about winning doesn't matter.

Cal doesn't even want to be the best coach. He's already said his goal isn't winning the national title. Its having Kentucky players compromising the entire starting lineup at the NBA all-star game.

Then why not just coach in the NBA if he's that obsessed with it?

I don't believe that regardless of whether he actually said it. Not winning NCs in BB on a fairly consistent basis will get you fired at UK and Cal knows it.

The schools: Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn

The breakdown: Of all the players on this list, Akers might be the one with which each school feels legitimately confident. Akers has recently taken a ton of visits and raved about each trip. He doesn’t appear to be tipping his hand about which school truly leads anytime soon.

The pick: LSU. The smart money here is on Ole Miss but with the recent problems in Oxford, it could open the door for LSU to land Akers.-Rivals Woody

Edit: I forgot to add Woody is about right as your local weatherman.

Hubbs added that we are in the mix in the very same thread.

Sidenote: Woody looks as if he has been hanging out at the Golden Corral more than he has evaluating prospects.

Noticed that too, looks like he is going to audition for the Michelin Man part without a costume. I think Woody uses a dartboard on predictions.

From the UGA 247 site:

"My mom definitely likes Georgia a lot haha," Akers said. "She likes the way it is really family oriented and how they take care of business while also setting them up for life after football."

The plan is to announce a decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday Jan. 7, 2017 in San Antonio. A silent commitment could come well before then.

"I am not close right now, but I might be by the end of the summer," Akers said. "I do not really have any questions for Georgia, but I hope to get back soon."

How do we know Georgia sets anybody up for life after football? Kirby hasn't had a single kid graduate yet.

Are they going off Alabama kids?
