'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

Can't sell Hurd/Kamara when Kamara touches the ball three times.

You can't sell everything to everyone. If Kamara doesn't get the ball, then it means Dobbs gets it more or is throwing it more. If you want to sell your program to a dual threat QB, then the QB will run some. If you want to sell to a WR, then you have to throw the ball. There is only one football. We need to do what it takes to win football games.

This is the correct answer. Real football is not a video game were you evenly split the football to every player. The name of the game is winning. Hopefully, we can carry the momentum in the Florida game from the offensive side of the ball and get a lot a different people some touches. Especially with UGA and A&Ms shaky defenses.

Nothing, we just kept adding to this thread with random conversations which made people naturally think that he was still higher interested when he really hadn't been talking about our program at all lately.

ESPN recruiting analyst, Gerry Hamilton just said on ESPN's Recruiting Nation that this was a Tennessee-Florida St. battle with Ohio St. in there too.

I posted that just a few days ago.

I'm not so sure Kamara goes this year. Don't think he's shown enough to get drafted with a deep running back class. It's a tough road as an undrafted free agent running back.

Would love to see what he could do as the featured back next near! New QB and more veteran O-Linemen equals big numbers for a RB.

I am actually beginning to think the same thing about AK. If this were a different RB class that wasnt so deep, he probably is gone. But honestly, he may come back next year to play his SR year. If that happens then not getting a second big time RB this year is not that big of a deal.

I still think he goes. I think that he would bank on his pro day or combine results (if he gets invited) to help convince teams to draft him.

Yeah, and the injuries to JRM and Cam will only aid his decision.

It's not like they had season ending injuries that have any effect on their NFL futures. They'll be back and if we keep winning will be VIPs on some of college football's biggest stages. That will only heighten their draft stock. There's a big monetary difference between first round and second.

Question on 247:

What are our chances with Cam Akers now?

Callahan's response:

Somewhere between an outside shot and a decent shot. I wouldn't say Tennessee has a particularly high-percentage chance, but as long as he follows through on his plan to visit the Vols at least one more time, I'm not counting them out. Florida State, Ohio State and maybe even Ole Miss are still big factors there. It will be interesting to see whether LSU can remain in that one, or get back in it, once a new coach is hired there.

I don't see LSU having a coach in place before he's basically enrolled somewhere. He is an EE I think? I realize there is time but I think Mid-December would be the absolute earliest time that LSU could announce a coach.
