'16 NC QB Austin Kendall (former UT commit)

Yes I probably worded that wrong. As is, after signing three QB's in 2015, continuing to recruit more QB's in 2016 has probably left a sour taste in the mouth of him and those around him.

As I've stated before, I live in Ky. and know people who have some insight to UK's recruiting efforts. You all can call me a troll or what not, doesn't really matter to me. Attempting to discredit me isn't going to change the fact that there's plenty of smoke around Kendall decommitting. Just read the latest Rivals article if you have any doubts about that.

You'll be ok...or you won't...we don't really care. :)

From Rivals, which can be seen on his profile if you have a membership.

Cats Illustrated: Are you as solid with Tennessee now as you were when you committed or do you think you have more to think about now?

Kendall: I definitely have some stuff to think about.

Cats Illustrated: As far as 'stuff to think about' goes, is part of that the number of quarterbacks Tennessee took last year?

Kendall: Yeah, it's surprising. But it's obviously competition, just like every other school's going to have.

Yep, "just like every other school has".... So nothing to see here. He either wants to be a Vol or he doesn't. It's his choice.

If Kendall is unsure of his abilities and feels he needs to go to a different, in this case lesser, program; he should do so. Wish him well. If he believes in his abilities, he should go to UT or another elite program where he will have the opportunity to play at an elite level.

For the record, only those with elite talent and desiring to play at an elite level should be recruited and signed at UT. No need to take chances on wannabes and fiip floppers any more. Which is why Butch/staff need to keep recruiting QB's all the way up to early enrollment/December. IMO Austin has already gone too far in that Rivals interview.

We're gonna start winning championships with or without Kendall. But its up to him. Go to UK and not have that chance or go to UT have a great chance. :)

If they expect a QB to stick, just don't lie to him up front and tell him he's "the guy" and "you are only signing one". Then follow that up with offers to other QBs. For all we know Butch could have told Kendall he was only taking QD and JJ in 2015. Austin did commit before Jones did.

It is kind if funny that fans think lying to a kid is fine to get the commitment. Now if he decommits because of the lies, he doesn't want to compete. Trusting your coaches is kind of a big deal IMO.

I don't think he goes to Ky if he does end up decommitting. He will have a lot of people coming after him with bigger offers than KY. auburn I think will be a big one to watch.

Perhaps you should quit calling people liars when you don't really know what conversations went on or when information was provided. I can tolerate a troll. I can't tolerate what amounts to character assassination. Your knowledge about any recruitment discussion is about .00001% of the total recruitment. So stop acting like you know. Your refusal to recognize that is really a poor reflection on you, and I'm surprised you don't see that. If a kid was recruited as the only QB and circumstances changed six months later, as long as the coaches discussed it with the kid, everything was ethical. All the evidence points to that being the case. I assume you are smart enough you understand that, which causes questions about your motives.

I totally agree with you. It's a lost cause trying to explain this because some of us have tried but to no avail.

I agree with you Leb. I would never give this staff a commitment until January before signing date if I were that kind of talent. I would at least keep my options open until late in the game since they like to tell kids to look around in December.

Blue font?

Now this is my opinion, but if this kid is wavering we should go hard after Tylin Oden. I really am high on Tylin Oden, and I think he'd fit out offense perfectly. 6-5 and has wheels with a great arm, and is an in-state kid. If we lose Kendall we should definitely lock down Tylin Oden and then that makes us the favorite with his brother next year as well.

Agreed. Only knock I have on Oden is that he needs to put on weight. 180 for a 6'5 guy is gonna rough in the SEC imo. Maybe he's gained since the last update I saw.

Common practice is it? How many kids do you think Jones has told to "look around in December"? How long is the list? I'll start....
