'16 NC QB Austin Kendall (former UT commit)

Is he? Says he's a "Carolina Regions Mgr". Kendall is the 1st guy he's predicted to UK this cycle. Last cycle he didn't predict anyone to UK. His predictions look strong to be honest. Average days correct last year says 169. That's pretty good.

I glanced to see UKs QB recruiting of late. They took 1 in 2013, 1 in 2014, and 0 in 2015. They have a DT guy for 2016 thus far(if he'll play QB).

Ah, I was looking at the wrong CB

Towles/Barker/Phillips were some good players from in-state and TN. Last year we took no one so I'd expect us to push really hard for 2016. Even with the CB pick for UK, I just don't think it'll work out. Maybe Austin is thinking that the competition is going to be super hard at UT, but from what i heard the brother angle wasn't much of a pull after all. He'd be dumb to flip now.

Kentucky could be a real threat. Brother is a walk-on receiver there, FWIW. He'll be a RS so or jr by the 2016 season.

I mean wasn't it just a week or two ago there was a report saying Kendall was still firmly a UT commit. This had to do with OC change, but I find it very hard to believe something has changed that much this quick.

Still, will be interesting to pay attention and see if anyone else predicts a flip. I'd be shocked.

Could be nothing more than the guy making the CB swinging for the fences. He predicted AK to UT the day before he committed. Can't imagine that was worth much if any points at all. Maybe he is just throwing something against the wall with nothing to lose.

Not sure if there would be an issue or not, but if Austin playing along side his brother was a must, I'd imagine Butch would let him transfer and walk on at UT.

UK basically tried that strategy and evidently it didn't work so I don't see Butch trying the same thing. Jmo, fwiw.

More than likely that's what he's doing. It's worth a long shot. UT seems to still be recruiting QBs for the 2016 class. Maybe Austin sees 2 or 3 guys already on campus ahead of him and then sees another in his class and gets worried about playing time. At UK he'd probably automatically be in a serious battle for playing time (Unless Towles really steps forward like Dobbs did).

Just tossing it out there as it wouldn't cost UT anything to let him walk on. His brother may have just liked UK.

From what I remember and heard from others was that Ryan was a lacrosse player and really didn't plan on football. But UK saw him when looking at his brother an decided to give him a shot. Don't think he's ever saw the field, but it was worth a try if it influenced a 4 or 5 recruit at all.

UK Rivals site guys indeed are saying he is going to be flipping in the next few days. Terrible decision on that kid's part. If he doesn't want to be at TN he would have way better options than UK regardless if his brother is a walk-on.

I'll believe it when Fort and Hubbs start talking about it.

Seems like JG wants to be a Vol, go get him Butch.

Hope not. Taking 3 was always a risk of having him look around Imo. Just too easy to negative recruit against. Especially for a school that didn't take any QBs last class.

Tylin Oden, come on down.

No clue. That is what they are saying though.

Well I hope he sees it through and pays attention to our fall camp as far as how QD JJ and SJ are doing, maybe none of them pan out and he sticks with us. Top flight QBs can wait as long as they want, it's not typical but it happens.

If I were going to negative recruit UT to Kendall, I'd focus less on the 3 qbs UT just took and argue more that UT's offense is too reliant on the QB run.

If He wants to be on a 3-9 or 4-8 team his whole time in College then God bless him.

Can't recruit scared...we were down to one scholarship QB...had to be done...If UK's pitch is that we have too many good QBs on our roster, his response should be "So?...I'm better!"...any QB that we should want as the face of our program thinks that way.

Of course fans will think that way. In reality, recruits are paying attention to depth charts and recruiting class numbers. Kids want to play.

One thing recruits have seen recently with UT is kids who just signed are not sticking around long. Also UT is very quick to "clear space". Things that other schools are surely pointing to when making their recruiting pitch.

If that's the case, we're in trouble. Our depth and talent is only get better. But I know for a fact kids like Sheriron Jones are not concerned about depth charts and recruiting class numbers. He could've gone virtually anywhere. Yet he has confidence in his abilities and relishes competition. Those are the recruits we are gonna focus on: ones that are not worried about being promised playing time because they know they're going to go out there and earn it.

USC at the top of their run, piled up five star QBs like cordwood...sometimes three a class...then they'd recruit and sign the best one the next year...I'm sure the recruits were aware of their roster...also kids appreciate rosters being cleared for them. :)

I think he flips because Oden commits. He has talked about being the only QB we take quite a bit in his quotes. I think we get Oden and Gaurantano which would be an upgrade anyway.
