'16 NC QB Austin Kendall (former UT commit)

All three freshman will have a chance to compete for the back up spot. Once Dormandy emerges as the clear cut second best due to him already having a solid grasp on the playbook and being an EE. Both Jauan and Sheriron will redshirt this year along with Austin and Dormandy red shirting the year after. The QB competition of 2017 will feature three redshirt sophomores and a redshirt freshman. That is unless one of the three see a bigger impact elsewhere I.e position change or transfer.

I'd bet the farm all 3 are not on campus when Kendall arrives. That's just not how these things work when taking 3 in a class.

I'd also expect UT to push for a QB in the 2017 class who will compete in that 2017 QB battle. Ideally Hunter Johnson.

Probably right. But if we lose just one of those guys from the '15 class by the time Kendall gets here, that still puts us at 4 QB's on roster and in better shape at that spot then We've been in a LONG time.

You've got to think the coaches believe one of the QBs will transfer.

No doubt in my mind. We just have to hope it's only 1. Love Kendall for 2016. Imo there's a chance Oden is in it before its all done.

I work in Columbia when I'm off from school, and one of the guys I work with coaches younger guys and his son played at Columbia Central. He said Odin is in as soon as the coaches would let him. He didn't think much of him.

JJ is the best athlete of the 3 and the only one that, right now, I could potentially see having an NFL future at another position. If he doesn't win the #2 spot clearly in spring/fall camp then I could see a move to where he still works some at QB, but works at another position where he could see the field and be utilized quickly. Let us not forget that 2 seasons ago Dobbs was #4 on the depth chart and was starting at seasons end. Last year he was #3 and is now being talked about as the best returning QB in the SEC (including a QB that received early Heisman talk last season). QD is coming off surgery and may be limited this spring, which could give JJ a slight advantage. Both Jones and QD are far more advanced as QB's in regards to training and experience playing the position. This will by far be the most interesting position battle to watch this fall, but due to all the factors I have stated above, it is not that much of a stretch to see all 3 of them still on the roster in '16.
