'16 GA ATH Kyle Davis

For all the guys (butchna) who were questioning me when I said Auburn was likely gonna land Davis (as it now stands, things can change yet again):

Per Fortenerry in th VQ War Room today, he wouldn't be surprised if Davis commits to Auburn based on recent "sources" info. I said this early last week. Three weeks ago UT and UGA were the definite leaders. Fortenberry basically just said the exact same thing.

It's a little annoying when people question you when your track record is solid and there's zero hard info to suggest that what you're saying isn't true. But I guess now that it's on VQ a week later it's legit info? Lol

Is this your horn? It must have gotten heavy after all that tooting.

This info is so awesome you had to outsource it in the Brandon Johnson thread. :w00t:

Nobody questioned Auburn info. Only that this wasn't the reason for taking Johnson. We took Johnson because we liked him not because of Davis. Auburn has always been in the game. Dawg fans just didn't want to believe it. Plenty of time in this one so no reason to call in the white flag

I wonder if these top WR's are seeing us rotate 8-10 4* and 5* guys and concluding that they will not be a heavily targeted star in our offense.

Possible, I'm sure Auburn is atleast convincing him we are doing that. JJ, Preston and co will get us by til Hunters crop comes in imo.

Vindication, while it probably feels good, is not a good look for anyone trying to pump up their credibility. Just let your info speak for itself. In the end, it will either verify you, or vilify you.

Thanks for the info, VolDango. There will still be a good chance we can change his mind, starting with tomorrows game. There are quite few big time recruits that will be in Knoxville this weekend, and for those that have never been to a game in Neyland Stadium, it will be a an amazing experience! A win against Oklahoma and getting to see Neyland rocking out will go along way toward convincing these kids that Tennessee's back! Plus, with a great season and other teams, ie. Auburn, struggle, Tennessee will get a few more of these top recruits away from other schools. Dobbs improved accuracy and the abundance of talent we have coming in should make any top receiver want to come here. I'm sure Auburn has a lot to offer $$$, but they seem to like to run the ball much more than pass. I don't understand why a top receiver would want to go there, other than $$$. In the long run, Tennessee would be a much better place for him to showcase his talents and make the big money in the NFL. This weekend is huge for us to show the nation that we are back in a big way! Let's show these guys, we are WRU!

Let me preference this by saying I appreciate any information brought to this board. It's up to each poster to determine what level of credibility each poster has. A poster's credibility is built over time based on his accuracy. I can sympathize with you to some extent as I have occasionally had information and shared it only to be chastised myself which I never really took offense too because I couldn't care less.

Having said that, the problem I have is you have on occasion questioned other's credibility when it comes to privileged information and then turn around and get offended when someone questions yours.

Like I said I appreciate all information that is brought to this board, including yours, and I think I have the mental capacity to determine what is believable and what is not. Thank you for sharing and please continue to do so. :hi:

You haven't put that butchna guy on ignore yet? It's your fault for listening to him. Anyway keep bringing good info. :eek:k:

I like butchna guy better than some of the nicknames I have. The following is a cut and paste from the Brandon Johnson thread that crystallizes my thoughts on Voldango and his pet ego...sorry you'll never read it LK. :)

Never had a problem with insiders. Don't expect them to bat a thousand, appreciate them sharing on this board. I don't have any sources so it's part of the fun of this board. I poked Dango because he hikes his legs up and sprays others who have earned that insider distinction. He doesn't respect those he deems unreliable because they don't use HIS methods...whatever the hell they are. I've gotten advance notice from Eazy, GFW, LWS et al...and Voldango. He says he doesn't care about E-cred and whatnot but he sure brings the disdain when other's info is referenced. If he enjoys bringing information maybe he should just act like it. :hi:

But Dudi said we should ignore Davis to Auburn rumors!

I think there may be something to the idea that we will have a slightly more difficult time recruiting top-flight WRs for this offense due to how often we rotate. Not saying it's impossible, but other schools are undoubtedly making recruits aware of it.

I think the biggest subject of negative recruiting will be how little Marquez North is being used. He was the invisible man last Saturday and he is a quality NFL prospect. Could go in the first 2 rounds next April.

Liked your post because I agree. Made the same point to a buddy during BGSU.

I think you're 100% on target here.

If I'm an opposing recruiter, I am pointing out that Tennessee rotates 7-10 guys all game - not just series by series but sometimes play by play.

1. Star players want to play

2. The less snaps one plays, the less stats they accumulate. Production is still the #1 key to making the NFL.

3. Can't get in a groove

We just need to win. Win...win...win. That speaks the loudest to recruits. We kept winning the talent will come at all positions. And that's what we really need is just overall talent to rise across all positions. I really hate making a comparison to alabama but since saban has been there just how many top-flight receivers have they had? I'd say we probably have had a better wr corp than they have in that time period but ours don't get the recognition because we as a team haven't had the winning success that draws attention.

Now that being said if we don't get Davis I'm all for him going to auburn over georgia. Pump talent into teams that play alabama every year to hopefully shut them up.

You really think North could be a first or second round pick with his limited production?

If he destroys the combine. Why not? Tons of guys with little to no production go high in the NFL Draft based almost entirely on physical attributes. See Arik Armstead. Defensive lineman with 2 career sacks getting drafted in the 1st round by San Francisco last year.
