'16 GA ATH Kyle Davis

Which one do you think will throw the best bubble screen or jet sweet pitch? I can't wait to find out.

Has Dobbs inspired any confidence to call for much more than that? Has our offensive line shown the ability to pick up blitzes and pass protect for more than 3 seconds following the snap? This is unnecessarily cynical.

Fwiw, I think Guarantano is perfect for what Butch likes to do with his offense.

I wouldn't even know, considering I've seen Dobbs throw about 3 deep passes during his entire career thus far.

The longest completed pass I can remember since last year was Lane's TD pass to Wharton in the bowl game.

I would have to go back to Worley's start to the 2013 season to remember another.

That's true and very sad. How is it that Nick Marshall, a converted cornerback, has a better arm than Dobbs?

I know. It's a good enough reason for me. I think the offense gets better as the season goes along.

Whether it's Guarantano or Johnson, a WR that signs with Tennessee will be playing with a much better QB than Josh Dobbs for most of their careers. Some of the posters here are punch drunk over Saturday and don't seem to think that will make a difference. I will expect our staff to take more chances and show more confidence in the passing game with a QB they trust.

Butch recruited Dobbs! Why doesn't he trust him? Let him play the game that his skill set is made for, and that's to improvise when things break down. I think Butch is hamstringing him and trying to keep him from getting hurt. I certainly I understand where Butch comes from trying to protect his only experienced QB, but if it causes losses because we aren't fully utilizing what our QB can do, then are we better off? I don't know.

Lots of different names in the RF since Saturday. Coach Majors dubbed them the Legions of the Miserable, and they're out in full force.

Yeah, for someone like myself, who is heartbroken by Saturday's loss but generally optimistic about Butch and our future, this place has been kind of unbearable the last few days.

When I returned to Knoxville following the 99 Fiesta Bowl NC Game, I heard a couple of them on Sports Talk calling for Fulmer to be fired, after he led the team to a perfect season and the first BCS NC. Their "reasoning" was that they didn't win a couple of games by a wide enough margin. Just goes to show that you literally can't please everyone.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some of those people are the same ones calling for Butch's head now. They're probably (and ironically) some of the people that yearn for the Fulmer days on here.

What makes it sad is we use to have the recruiting forum as a place to go to for some common sense football talk.

There is a lot of common sense talk in here...it doesn't have to be all positive to be common sense, and this is coming from someone who is usually very positive about TN football. However, after the debacle Saturday night, Butch has some things he needs to prove to some of us.

He has seen him in practice.
