Johnson has the measurables that look pretty. He would come in mop up duty and make a wow play so people expected he would be even better as a starter. I thought he would be good based on what he had done in limited action but he clearly is no gamer. He doesn't seem to know what he is doing or looking at. Western Carolina is a terrible team I think you underestimate just how bad they are. Probably one the worst teams to come to Neyland in the past 15 years.

J-State is actually a very good FCS team, currently ranked #3

We played the defending FCS champion Montana under Dooley and beat them like a drum. No reason for any FCS school to take a ranked D-1 team to double OT. Auburn is a pretender this year.

My vote is for Dobbs>Johnson. Dobbs might not be the best down field passer, but he can at least get it past the line of scrimmage, unlike Johnson

auburn is soft on defense and has been for a few yrs. That takes a while to change. Its a culture on that side of the ball. They have talent but they got to get some new blood in there bc they dont want to hit anybody. Everyone they play in the SEC will run on them.

Recruiting is always fluid. I recall him talking about having big time QB was a key and he can't like much of what he is seeing from Auburn. UGA and TN have much better QB situations now and in the future
