'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

If you had a 50/50 chance at Gibson on signing day or could lock Dormady up now (and you had to choose), which do you take?

With our scary QB situation in 2015, I take the safe bet and lock up Dormady now. Jennings is close enough to Gibson for me.

If CBJ thinks Dormady is a good fit and wants to take his commitment, then thats good enough for me.

As soon as Dormady's car leaves the Bama campus...5*, or Saban puts a call in to Rivals.

I would have to agree with you.

I'm going to go on a very short limb and guess that most of you already know my choice.

But I'll go a step further. If Dormady and Gibson tried to commit today at the same time and I was the coach, I'd take Dormady. That's how much I like his game/ how well he fits our offense.

Yeah, I agree. IF the staff wants to take another HS QB, I am all in on Dormady.

IF they decide they prefer to go with a Juco kid(to replace Fergs) and someone who may be able to play a bit sooner, I have decided that guy is Larry Cutbirth.

Yeah, I noticed that. Tells me his arm is pretty good. Also something I believe is coachable.

You are right, surprising good throws coming off that back foot. The only think that worries me with back foot passers, some people start throwing off their back foot do to fear of getting hit. You know, kind of a bail out plan?

Yeah, but when you see him tuck it and go he does not seem to shy away from contact at all. I think a decent QB coach could have him stepping into his passes better in no time.

Okay guys... I'm usually not one to do this, but come'on this post is f****** hilarious

Eh you've had better. It's good, just not great. I think there is a model with a similar last name, I thought you were going in that direction.

Well I mean your right of course. I've had a couple "post of the year" nominees, but this was one of the rare times my comment actually tickled myself. It's probably just the fact I'm exhausted from a 12 hour work day and I'd laugh at anything

Watched Dormady's video last night. Could be wrong, but don't recall seeing any plays where he tucked the ball and ran with it. Not saying that is necessarily a bad thing, but I am wondering does he have the ability to run the read option or would he be pro style all the way? I agree with those who believe we only need a QB to run the read option 5-6 times per game to keep the defense honest and also be able to extend plays and scrambling occasionally, but I am not comfortable with a QB who has limited mobility. Before anyone says "Manning & Brady say hello", they are the exception, not the rule and I don't see anything in his video that makes me think of either of those two. Not saying I don't like him or he is not a take, just wondering if he brings any mobility to the position. If the staff takes him, I'm good with that all day, every day.

Side Note: My last statement is applicable to any recruit.

He did not run the ball at all his SO year in HS from what I have found. Reports from camps are saying he moves pretty well. Just have to wait and see if the staff would actually take him. IF they do, they must feel he can run the offense.

He stares down his reciever and never goes through progressions, which is why hes usually reeling and throwing off his back foot.. But other than that, they looked like good highlights.. We sure he's a '15?

The Hudl film made me curious as well where it said 2017 recruit. Obviously with him having played in Juco last year(those are the highlights posted), 2014 being his 2nd year there would make him a 2015 recruit. The Scout Juco 2015 board of prospects is where I found him to start with.
