'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

I can already see the future in this thread (if Dormandy commits to UT this summer). There will be a ton of posters crying, complaining, whining about taking his commitment. He'll have a really good senior season, demonstrating his arm is 100%, and will start to pick up some bigtime offers. This will make those same posters, who overreacted and cried about his commitment, freakout that he's going to flip to another school and we'll lose out on a top tier QB.

Yep. Would be just another day in the life of a Vol fan who loves Volnation.

You're forgetting the litany of shoulder specialists gauging every throw and predicting disaster after every misplaced throw.

His highlights are solid from his sophomore year, but his arm strength and the quickness of the ball doesn't seem elite. Anyone else agree?

How do you know these things? Are you a psychic?

Had to edit the font color.

Answered your own question. Soph in HS so he was 15-16 yrs old.

I see plenty of arm strength and room to grow for a SO. He needs work on his lower body to use it to provide more power but most kids do at that age.

While I don't see the zip on the passes as, say, Francois, I do see very good accuracy and touch on his passes that Francois doesn't have. Add in a couple years of strength and growth, and he'll be just fine.

Speaking of growth, I wonder how tall he was and how much he weighed in his sophomore season? From the quotes a few pages ago, it makes it sound like he's been growing lately.

I believe a few days ago you were all but screaming at posters in the TG page and saying if you don't support Gibson you shouldn't be posting in his thread. Only those in love with Gibson should be allowed to post in his thread. (Paraphrased). I see that belief doesn't keep you from going into the threads of other QB's and pushing your TG love.

Its still geared toward a power run spread. Butch wants to run the ball first. We have serious talent at WR now. A pro style passing QB who can run a little will work fine. This kid can do that.

I'll be disappointed for the fact that we had been recruiting Gentry, Waller, Gibson, Wimbush, Nunes, etc and ended up with him. This guy just seems like a step down from those names.

Why? He's played one season of high school ball. A lot of quarterbacks make their mark during the summer before their senior year.

I don't want to hear it from you. You should fight for Lord Tyrion. Maybe THEN I can take you seriously.

If this guy had played his junior year he would be just as big a name, if not bigger, then those listed. Even without playing 247 still ranks him as the 5th overall pro style QB.

How can you possibly wrap your twisted logic around that?

I like the more proven QBs that haven't been seriously hurt already in HS.

He was better as a sophomore then they were as juniors and now that he is back to 100% I'm going to guess that his senior stats will far surpass those other QB's. One of the best things about his injury was that it wasn't football related. It was an accident that happened whilst playing baseball.

Does anyone know of the extent of the shoulder injury that caused home to miss his junior year? I mean what exactly was the injury and what are the chances he has issues for the next 4 years. His sophomore film looked good, and he would have been setup for a great junior year.

From what I've read it sounds like a torn labrum. It put him out for a whole year, but I like that it wasn't a football related accident so I don't think he has durability concerns. And the guy is going around saying he is 100%; even better than he was before. I would have to agree with him as our staff thought he was good enough to offer after seeing him throw.

Keeper, if he is progressing as he states and other schools' staffs along with ours believe. Not a rhythm passer, can create. When you can tell that from soph video you know it's for real. It's all on the arm strength and physical status - stronger and healed or not.

I am a Gibson believer. But if we end up with Dormady and Jennings we will have two young QBs with good upside that have different skillsets. That's a win, gang.

I just realized something but am I leading the Dormady train?? I have posted entirely too many times in this thread because I am not the type to get caught up in the QB wars.

I'd claim it now, before he shows out his senior year and everyone else is jumping on.
