I was hoping they would (offer), and it worked out, so Ill be taking my visits to schools that offered here coming up, and theyll be on the list, said Dormady, whos ranked by 247Sports as the nations No. 173 overall prospect and No. 5 pro-style quarterback in the 2015 class.
That was definitely exciting, because thats one that I had already visited and looked around, and there were definitely things about that program that intrigued me.
Im definitely intrigued, and itll be good to get back up there and visit with Coach Jake and Coach*(Butch) Jonesagain and just hang out for a couple days or whatever.
The 6-foot-4, 208-pound Dormady said he likes Tennessee for several reasons.
Theyre a good program, he said. Theyre going to win games. I mean, I like Coach Jake and Coach Jones a lot. The facilities are off the charts, and theyre getting better, and they have such a good following and all that stuff.
I mean, yeah, the facilities are really nice, but I would probably say the thing that stood out to me the most was probably the stadium *just how big it is.
Dormady, who throws right-handed, missed his entire junior season after suffering a torn labrum in his right shoulder last year during baseball season. The Vols, like many of the teams that have recruited him, wanted to see him throw in person this spring to gauge his recovery.
I mean, Im back to 100 percent, he said. "Im throwing the best Ive ever thrown, and Im as strong as Ive ever been.
He said his upcoming series of visits is still kind of in the works, but he and his family are planning to hit the road sometime around June 8 for a trip that could last almost two weeks.
Im just going to take a couple days, I think, at each place that has offered me and just sit down and talk with coaches and stuff, and well go from there, said Dormady, who has received five of his eight offers since May 1.
While Dormady holds offers from Oklahoma State, TCU, Kentucky, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Houston and Texas-San Antonio in addition to Tennessee, he said he wont be visiting a few of those teams because they already have received quarterback commitments and are not thinking about taking two quarterbacks in the 2015 class.
He said hes hoping to decide on a college within the next couple of months.
Its kind of based on how I feel about it and whenever I talk with my family, Dormady said. But definitely before August comes around, Ill have made my decision, hopefully.
