As far as the attrition, I can't remember who but someone said to expect some this summer.
Bowlingreenvol, I understand what you are saying. However, I think it is clear Butch was trying to get as many of his guys on campus as possible in his first couple years and may have reached on some. Those that are on the edge athletically seem to have a much tighter rope. Like Nick and volatil I was never thrilled with this commit and am looking on the positive side that it is another scholly for 16
85 scholarships, up to 25 per year, up to 5 years of eligibility...attrition is normal, expected, and required.
As for evaluations, a huge chunk of folks date for years, then marry, then ultimately divorce. Why? Because evaluations are hard when folks shield who they are, which they can often do convincingly for years. How much more difficult when those evaluations come a few minutes at a time, often on the phone or via text. Truthfully, I'm impressed at how quickly that they figure out who isn't going to work long term and get them moved elsewhere.
Seriously...nothing to see here.
Your assumptions are completely false about THC. Regardless of the fluid intake THC would still be evident 21 days later. That is where most people fail the test.
It sounds like he failed a random and subsequently failed two mandatory follow-ups due to an initial positive test.
I'm not saying attrition is a problem or abnormal. It's amusing how the fanbase twists dismissals depending on who the coach is.
FTR, I'm not referring to the dismissals of Fulmer holdovers on the roster. I'm referring to Kiffins actual class.
Bruce and Oliver were on the same boat as Jaylond Woods IMO... Never really understood why we accepted their commitments in the first place...

Yeah - I changed to that avi just after his accident. Hope his family is doing alright.
That whole situation has helped give me perspective when I need it (often).
Hope you're doing well.
Don't really care if VN questions the information or not. That comes straight from the mouth of a current UT player.
And yes, it is very possible to fail 3 drug test in 6 weeks or less. Once a college football player fails an initial drug test, they are tested very often after that. I would know. But by all means, continue arguing amongst yourselves.
I talked to a very prominent poster on this site about that, perspective, and he said there were a bunch of d. Heads on this site. Constantly needling each other, nit picking their posts, putting words in people's mouths, and we are all supposed to be Vols. after his passing I started to see it more clearly and quit engaging them. I think when someone has posted for a few years they become a little more civil. We don't need to correct every mistake. If I'm gone tomorrow I don't want my last post to come off like a caustic a hole. Hope to meet you at a game sometime bro. Godspeed
You asked when this becomes an indictment of the staff and their evaluations. Evaluations aren't perfect and attrition is the result. I can't comment on how people responded to Kiffin, but I would say it is too early to say how Butch's recruits will compare. I do think that Butch gets a pass due to the kind of person we perceive Butch to be. Kiffin...well, not so much.
