'15 TN TE Kyle Oliver (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I didn't act like that at all. My goodness, reading comprehension is a real issue on VN.

Let me make this clear for you. I was told this information by a current Tennessee football player. I also am close friends with an Oakland High football coach who reinforced what I was initially told.

So TIFWIW. I don't really care. Later rednecks.

Of course! Longsnapper..lol

Good luck to Kyle. But if he shot himself in the foot then it's better he goes. Frees up a spot for somebody that values the opportunity more.

Don't come in here acting like u the only one that's played D1 and you must be correct...

First, he didn't play D1, he played D3.

Second, he's one of the most trustworthy people I know. If he tells you something, chances are it's true.

Third, you are getting free info on a message board, why complain?

Per John Brice

When does this become an indictment on the staff and potentially their evaluations? The fanbase roasted Kiffin and Dooley for the attrition (whether it was criminal, grades, laziness etc) even though they "laid down the law" as well (especially Kiffin, and he did it at USC too). But Butch and Co seem to get a pass and its "good riddance" to the players, "Butch don't play around", "Butch is changing the culture".

I'm not blaming this staff for the issues, as these athletes are adults and have been given an incredible opportunity and responsibility, but the tone of the fanbase is a 180 from what it was with the previous staffs when the same type situations arose.

Well I think you have some points there but honestly we're washing the troubled kids out early. The culture is likely better for that. Fans are going to criticize opposing staffs regardless. I don't think most saw these issues in oliver. A lot questioned the commitment on talent but not character.

Because butch is actually building depth and the program is in a totally different place. Look how many kids have left alabama. Guys get recruited over when you recruit well. When you have one talented guy who leaves and all you have is 2 stars and walkons behind him then your screwed. That's the difference between kiffin and Dooley as opposed to butch.

Kiffin was here a year, hard to build depth in a year. When his hoodlum's were dismissed by him or Dooley the fault was on the coaches for recruiting busts and he set the program back because his kids didn't pan out. But Oliver or Pearson are just hoodlums and Butch is the disciplinarian for not tolerating it. Just because Butch has 24 still around "offsetting" the 8-12 that have left in 2 years doesn't change the narrative of who's "to blame" for the attrition.

And I don't buy that FR get recruited over. A kid who's had 2-4 years in a program and still isn't seeing the field gets recruited over i.e. a Drae Bowles.

You don't see the most talented kids leaving just saying. It's really not that hard to figure out. Say this is kmac you think he gets dismissed?

85 scholarships, up to 25 per year, up to 5 years of eligibility...attrition is normal, expected, and required.

As for evaluations, a huge chunk of folks date for years, then marry, then ultimately divorce. Why? Because evaluations are hard when folks shield who they are, which they can often do convincingly for years. How much more difficult when those evaluations come a few minutes at a time, often on the phone or via text. Truthfully, I'm impressed at how quickly that they figure out who isn't going to work long term and get them moved elsewhere.

Seriously...nothing to see here.

Depending on the frequency of usage THC stays in your system for 13 days.

I can't say from experience. But I am a criminal defense attorney, and I have been told it's normally longer than that. As some have said, there are factors that go into it. But it can take up to 30-45 days to completely leave your system.

I think it normally takes longer because people getting tested are often regular/everyday smokers.

If you're not a smoker and partake at a party one time, you can get it out of your system in under two weeks no problem.

Predicting a fun end of summer attrition threadfest. :pinch:

Let's do an year-by-year attrition thread so we can fondly recall signing day favorites like Raymond Henderson, Donald Langley, Rolando Melancon EJ Abrams Ward, & Pat Martin.

You just gotta "love" the guys that never even make it to their first fall practice.

You have to be a real dumbass to fail three piss tests. Especially since you're told far in advance when they'll be happening. And, these guys are SEC athletes. They're working out and drinking a gallon or more of water every day, which means the compounds that would stay in an ordinary person for two or three weeks cycle out of them in a week or less.

Failing three in a row is a sign of active, apathetic noncompliance with the policy. That attitude is probably what got him canned.

Your assumptions are completely false about THC. Regardless of the fluid intake THC would still be evident 21 days later. That is where most people fail the test.

It sounds like he failed a random and subsequently failed two mandatory follow-ups due to an initial positive test.

That's not necessarily true though. People with lower body fat who are irregular smokers can get it out of their system much more quickly than 21 days.

There are a lot of factors like diet and exercise that can factor in to how quickly it takes to get out of your system, but the the biggest is how frequently you smoke. It takes a long time for people who smoke often. If you try pot one time, are in good shape, and exercise and hydrate well, it can be out of your system much more quickly than 3 weeks.
