'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

Do u think Kyle would get upset u are on here talking about his recruitment?

I have not said anything one way or another on where he will commit. I just said we are in great shape with him. And I know he gets pressure from my grandfather and I. I have expressed to him about the class filling up. And I just wanted to share it here. It does not mean he will commit to UT. But I want him at UT.--He knows this.

I think the numbers thing gets overblown. Butch has shown in the past he is willing to take more than will actually sign on NSD. There is always academic casualties, commitment flips, etc. I think Phillips, Ordway, McKenzie, and Richmond all are guys that we will take regardless of how the numbers appear.

I don't think so. You can have local Knoxville kids, who don't get D1 offers to do that. It doesn't take an especially gifted player. Those scholarships means passing on a high impact player, in favor of a low impact one, and those (LS/ST) come a dime a dozen.

Are you kidding me? Not having positions on ST shored up is a recipe for disaster. I hate wasting schollies on them as well, but it's a necessary evil. If done properly, you only have to visit this once every 3 -4 years. Unfortunately, like Leb said, losing Horky to OU means we have to take a LS this cycle.

I can almost guarantee Kiffin will sink Bama's offense.

I hope this is true, unfortunately, I still think Kiffin has a good offensive mind. He is just a horrible administrator and is better with someone directing his efforts. He was simply the first of two terrible hires.

We just simply don't need anymore bluebloods and golden boys around here.

I also believe Kiffin is a solid OC/QB developer. I think he'll struggle some at Bama at first as he won't have a proven QB, but what I fear the most of Kiffin at Bama is his ability to go after monster WRs/playmakers. Bama doesn't have superior WR play all the time. They usually have 1-2 very solid players and that's about it. Kiffin will start bringing in guys like J.Jones and Cooper on the regular at Bama.

All the way up until he gets them in trouble with the NCAA :)

I care and if you had a shred of decency you would too.

Well you keep caring and in the future you can refer any other comments involving trivial matters such as this to the nearest wall.

So how about that Kyle Phillips kid? Can't wait until he makes it official.

Go Vols!!!!!!!

We will make room for the top dogs, like you said there will be flips and so on, out of the 18 now, 5 or 6 will flip or a couple will be told to look elsewhere, that's part of it, we will not turn a STUD DEFENCE LINE PLAYER DOWM, NO MATTER WHAT, if coach had to tell his brother to look elsewhere for a blue chip commit he would.

This is what I tell rivals fans who do not think we will ever come back. I tell them that we almost have all traces of Dooley out of our system. I also say I hope Kiffin burns Bama's program to the ground.

Once they hire Derek Dooley as the wide receivers coach, this plan will come to fruition.
Insert evil laugh here

He will commit to us as soon as he sees evidence that we have improved from last year and that the future is bright. He wants to make a confident decision, even though we are his favorite team.

Met one of his teachers last weekend. Said he was a good kid, smart, and that he really likes UT, but is still weighing his options.
