'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

Just kidding our prediction was different than the real brackets. It's home vs Smyrna, at Ravenwood, at Oakland, at Maryville, and at Cookville for the championship

Talked to him before the game, said he was loving it. And he did not like the Ohio State visit. Said it was very unorganized

I think we have made up a bunch of ground with him, or so it seems. Don't know if he has a leader, but we are at the top.

"i just love the responsibility of it[.] i want to play it in college and i thin i’m full fit to do so. That’s just something me and my coach (quarterback coach daniel childs) have been doing a great job of getting better with every day. He’s a great coach and he’s the main reason i’m the way i am today.”

“it was a lot of fun,” he said of the visit. “the crowd was energetic. The players, they seem committed and in a few years, i think their program will be turned around.”

“when the fans say ‘vfl’, they mean ‘vfl’, “ he said with a laugh. “that’s something that just popped out at me very quick.”

“the coaches showed me a lot of love. I got to meet a few of the coaches and i got to meet butch (jones) and the day was just great. They just told me that they put a lot in the qb’s hands and they expect the qb to be able to do the job. They think i can do the job and i do too.”

How was Van Jefferson?

neutralized. He looked rail thin to me...talking T. Bray as a Freshman thin. The Blackman corners pushed him around a bit. I'm not sure how it would have changed much, but their QB went out with an injury in the 2nd qt. They were already down 27-0 at the time.

Nice info. So do we want this kid as a 2015 QB, then? Sounds like that's what he wants to play, but I was under the impression we were gunning for an elite Top 5 QB in the 2015 cycle.

We want Top 5, elite talent at all positions, but it doesn't happen all the time. YES, we want this kid and are recruiting him as a QB.

Not a QB at the next level.

Disagree. He's bigger than Dobbs, faster than Dobbs. Arm will get there. He's just a Jr. He has another year in h.s. to develop plus two more before he would be asked to play. This kid is a competitor that HATES to lose. The type of leader we have been craving at QB for almost a decade.

Thanks ViS. And picked up 2 Crystal ball predictions to Vanderbilt... Not sure why? Maybe they are giving him the opportunity for QB?

To try to make a prediction where he would go is just a guess. Wonder who made them? Don't know if they are recruiting as a QB...would expect so. Most are by now...especially us.

Edit: Shocking that it was B. Simmons that gave Vandy the "prediction". Biggest Vandy homer there is! He called the Blackman game last night on CSS.

I would be interested to know where you got your information. Reported multiple times that "currently" his big offers are all for safety/athlete.

Don't know where you are seeing your reports. UT, tOSU, VU, offers are all QB offers as are other schools I can't remember. Some of these schools started recruiting him as an ATH/Saf, but if they wanted to keep recruiting him, they had to recruit him as a QB. Once one school offered as a QB they all had to follow suit or get left behind.

There is no accuracy in that. I know his preference is definitely to play QB. There has been zero reports that he was offered as a QB at UT or tOSU. If they have, then good deal. But can you, or anybody else, show me these actual reports?

Yeah, no accuracy whatsoever! Notice the word "initially" in the 2nd article. We are recruiting him as a QB now! Just because YOU haven't heard something, doesn't make it inaccurate.

Scout.com: Quarterback is Jennings' choice

"After playing safety his first couple of years in high school, Jauan Jennings moved to quarterback as a junior. That is the position he wants to play in college and he has been offered by numerous schools to do just that..."

Recruiters flocking to Jauan Jennings | NFANation - The official news source for the National Football Academies

"College recruiters are obviously impressed with Jennings’ work ethic, as well as his skill at quarterback. Tennessee and Vanderbilt extended early scholarship offers, but both schools initially wanted Jennings to play safety. As he’s sparked the Blaze’s offense with his passing and running ability, Jennings has attracted interest from big-time schools around the nation.

Ohio State offered Jennings a scholarship to play quarterback in late August, and Florida State, Auburn, Nebraska, Northwestern, Mississippi and Mississippi State are the latest schools to extend offers. Duke, New Mexico State and Middle Tennessee State made earlier offers. "

"Duke, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are all recruiting him as a quarterback. MTSU and Northwestern are recruiting him currently as an athlete."

That is one report. Thank you. Other indications are different. I am a boro resident and hope he turns out to be a great QB. Would be very surprised if those schools would take his commitment as purely a QB right now. Hopefully, he comes to camp at those schools and proves what he can do. High ceiling but still very raw as a QB.

Seems like there are three reports that I posted...and 2 of them said he was offered by tOSU specifically which you said hadn't happened.

Anyway, agree with you in that he is raw now as a QB. He has plenty of time to grow and develop. He has come a long way in just the 12 games he's played this year. After another year of development, sky is the limit with him.
