'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

So he should either lay the wood or be super fast. I don't see it at this levael. Maybe ovc.

???????????

You have obviously never seen him play much. He WILL "lay the wood" and he can fly.

We are recruiting him as a QB...tOSU is recruiting him as a QB... as are others. I understand that in recruiting you tell kids what they want to hear in order to get them to sign, and that is what they are telling him. I will say it seems to be a UT/Vandy battle right now. However, it is a LONG way to Feb 2015. I do like our chances though.

For those of you saying that he will NEVER play qb, etc. He has only played 8 games as a starting QB. He won't come on campus and play QB right away. That means he won't be playing QB for us for 3, maybe 4, years. Plenty of time to develop.

They are not wrong. People that are posting on whatever message board you get your info are wrong.

I'm just going by what some of the OSU mods have said on bucknuts and other premium sites. Maybe they are wrong, although they have always seemed pretty dialed in to all things OSU and are very well connected with that staff. It sounds like it could very well be OSU's staff telling the kid what he wants to hear without any real intention of allowing him to play there.

Do you guys know if 247 has him ranked as a 95 as a QB, Safety, or ATH?

I think most of the rankings are as an ATH. Without a doubt, right now, he is an SEC Safety. Is he an SEC QB, right now, no. My contention is, he doesn't have to be. I think he will be, and apparantly our staff thinks he will be by the time he is needed to play (3-4 years).

UNDERCLASSMEN TO WATCH

QB Jauan Jennings, Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman (2015): Jennings is another hot prospect from the Volunteer state, recently netting offers from Ohio State and several other programs. Some schools want him as an athlete, but Jennings prefers to play quarterback. Either way, he's a high-level prospect who will likely have offers from schools all over the Southeast before it's all said and done.

Watching Jennings tonight vs Bowling Green (KY). Will give somewhat of an analysis when I get home. Great atmosphere for a high school game tonight. Blackman brought a crowd and they are loud. Something that you don't see much in KY high school football.

Not game related, but some fireworks at the end of the half. Both teams get into somewhat of an altercation. It escalates into a pushing and shoving match between a handful of players. The head coaches get involved and about duke it out at midfield. Bowling Green is usually in control, but not tonight. Blackman leads at halftime 17-13.

Several questionable personal foul calls in the third quarter. Bowling Green scores on first play of the fourth after seemingly 50-60 yards in personal foul penalties. Bowling Green leads 20-19.

Btw ... Jennings is a heck of a player.

Jennings with roughly a 50yd strike for a touchdown. Two point conversion no good. Blackman leads 25-20 4:16 remaining in fourth.

Bowling Green goes onto score with 40 seconds left on a 4th down play. Bowling Green wins 26-25 over Blackman.

TIFWIW, I'm not a professional analyst, just someone who loves the game.

Jennings is an athlete in every sense of the word. Obviously this is the only time I've seen him play. What I saw was a player that is good at a lot of things, but not overly elite at a single position. He is the kind of player that you sign and see where he develops best. At QB he showed a nice zip on some passes and relatively good accuracy for a HS player. At times, he wasn't very decisive in the pocket, but expanded plays with his legs. He was looking for the home run a little too much tonight when players were open in the 10-15 yd zone. Not to be too critical here, with a stronger arm, the home run balls might have connected with the receivers. He did throw a pick to seal the game for Bowling Green, however, it was more of a good play by the defender rather than a bad throw by Jauan.

As a DB, he seemed to read plays relatively well, but didn't react quite as quickly as he needed to in some situations. He was shaded on the side of Nacarius Fant (WKU commit) for most of the night and was out of position on the game winning touch down catch. However, he didn't seem afraid of contact, but routinely made the sure tackle instead of the knockout blow. He played sideline to sideline all night long.

Overall, I was impressed with his athleticism for being 6'4". It will be interesting to see how he develops as he transitions to the next level.

I had hoped to make that game till I saw it fell on the Mizzou weekend. I bet it was a hell of an atmosphere. I come from a Greenwood family but still like seeing BG win it and represent KY well. Warren East is loaded with '15 kids, wish/hope/like to see UT get involved there.

Jauan is done with visits until our season is over. Visited Ohio State vs Penn State last week because we playing on Thursday. Our road to the championship sounds something like Siegel, Smyrna, Oakland, Maryville, and Whitehaven.. The whole state is about to see a new animal with Blackman.

That's a tough road. Go Blaze!
