I'll be surprised if this Academic scandal doesn't turn really ugly for UNC. I would think a bowl ban is almost a lock at this point, even with them being a school the NCAA worships. And I don't see the USC/UNC comparison at all. USC is an all-time powerhouse program. Their name alone recruits for them probation or not. UNC has and never will be remotely close to that type of program.
I think we end up with Jones, Mckenzie, and Tuttle. Heard too many positive things about the three to think otherwise.
7 DL coaches in 7 will do that to a line; not to mention 5 DCs over the same period. Can't wait to see some of those guys in their 2nd year of there development under the same staff. In my opinion coaches are doing it rt.our defense line has completely sucked for 5 years compared to upper sec teams. It has to be this way to compete earlier than later. Noone wants to wait 3 more years
USC > UNC and it ain't even close. UNC has no Orgeron or elite recruiters like USC had at the time. I'll take Butch going head to head with Fedora in a recruiting battle any day of the week.
agree up to the point of Heels having no elite recruiters. Larry Porter joined the staff after season and he's a former Recruiter of Year and finalist two other yrs at LSU. The one thing UNC could always sell recruits was the prestige of its degree. With this cheating scandal coming up again imo its going to hurt with oos picking off top talent.

The places that Porter has received acclaim (LSU and Texas) mostly sell themselves and have great talent in their backyard. Any recruiting coordinator at those two places is going to get more credit than they deserve. Porter's tenure at Memphis produced all of 3 victories and he has bounced around a lot. Reminds me of Trooper Taylor.
