2-3 weeks ago I felt real good about DJ Jones. Not so much now. Hopefully UT and Tuttle is a possibility. With them taking Picou, it does look like the staff wants 3 DTs this year.

Oh... well... then apply the same gif to my post and we should have things all tidied up.

Griddie.... I prostate myself before you and beg your forgiveness.

You still got a like for the appropriate emotigif for what you were trying to communicate. Too funny.

I love what is communicated by reading between the lines. Liked!!!:)

we would take dj, mac and tuttle if they wanted to come

4 DTs? I would imagine we would cool on DJ of the 3 or recruit over Picou. Our numbers are a little more thin this year as compared to last years. And we have other positions that need addressed.

If we were to encourage Picou to look elsewhere do you not think it would effect his teammate that is committed as well?

I agree. The more I think about it taking 4 DTs this year plus at least 3 DEs in addition to the 9 DL kids taken last year seems like a lot to me in just 2 classes.

McKenzie, Picou and IMO take the 1st one of Jones or Tuttle to commit. I would not recruit over Picou. IMO his motor is a big deal and is something we should not over look.

I think the commitments situation is fluid, just like last year, and it will not surprise me if some current commits look elsewhere, either voluntarily or involuntarily, as time goes on. The rumor about Picou is that the coaches rate him very highly, which is why they took his commitment even though we are in it for Mckenzie, Tuttle, Jones, and Settle. I think the fact he was one of the prime targets for OSU speaks to that. Plus, his teammate is purportedly similarly underrated by the services and was one of the primary targets of LSU, UF, etc., at OLB. In sum, my guess is Picou will not be a current commit that looks elsewhere involuntarily because the coaches think he is top notch and forcing him to look around would compromise the commitment of his teammate, who is also supposed to be top notch.

I'm not going anywhere! :)

+1...Picou is the real deal imo.

Way CBJ is recruiting, looks like we can expect a bigger class this year than originally thought. Our biggest need is DL right now.

Looks to be 4 DTs: Mckenzie , Picou, Settle, and one of Jones/Johnson/Taylor.

Can't keep them all. Do you think we tell Tuttle we are full? Are we going to get any DEs this cycle? Still have Phillips, Sweat, and DeBerry(I know he's listed as a LBer but he's growing out of the position). Do we tell them to look elsewhere and take all DTs? Eventually something will have to give.

You do have to remember that a lot of these kids would not have to be told we are full, because they are not all picking Tennessee. I doubt we have to tell Sweat or DeBerry we are full. JMO

I do think Phillips takes the last DE spot. Miss on him and hopefully Olenga is still on the board.

Did you mean any MORE DEs? We already got Butcher and Jackson.

I don't think we took 9 DL last season. Summer roster has Robertson and Mosley as OL/DL. I think they both could end up on offense. Leaving room for a larger DL haul this season. A lot of speculation has Dylan Jackson as a future O-lineman as well.

Picou is a stud. If we over recruit anyone, it is young men already on the roster...not Picou. McKenzie and any two from Tuttle-Settle-Jones. Four DTs? All studs? Yes please!

a lot of people have said that picou was a top target of OSU, where has this been said by the buckeyes?

Unless I am missing something, I don't think that was the case at all. If you look at the CB predictions, all the OSU ones came in literally the day or 2 after he got an OSU offer and at the time it was by far his best offer. I don't think he ever visited or camped at OSU. I looked on the Scout OSU recruiting board and there is literally no mention of the guy dating back to the beginning of June.

Don't get me wrong the kid has a great film and I think he can play at UT. I don't think OSU was a serious player at all for him though.

I think we have a shot at DeBerry, he seems to like it in Knoxville. He and his family have been down several times. Sweat is going to be hard to pull out of Virginia. Think he stays with the Hokies in the end.
