Kind of wander, Charlie Strong was interviewed by Vols 2 yrs ago. Did he negative recruit against the Vols? Again I believe this staff can upgrade the position.

This is why I've got no problem telling recruits to look elsewhere. It happens on both sides and everybody knows the game.

I hate that this decommitment is apparently going to happen. He has been committed so long and seemed like he was going to be a true VFL. I don't wish him ill will, but I think that he will grow to regret this decision. My concern now is that some idiot media person is going to start with the

"this is fallout from the AJ Johnson situation"

which, it most clearly is not.

Yep, expect ESPN to lead the charge looking for an easy story, just like last year when Oklahoma "flipped" Orlando Brown on NSD.

Why would someone switch their college choice because of (allegedly) bad choices made by someone else? It isn't like our AD is under investigation for fraud classes like UNC. AJ has nothing to do with anything recruiting related. We will still beat Mizzou and Vandy. Our class will still be a top 5-7 class, regardless of what the outcome of AJ's situation is.

I agree. I just think some idiot media personality is going to see a decommit and speculate it had something to do with what happened. Other people see it and run with it. Happens all the time.

Vol fans throwing him out like uncle Phil did jazzy Jeff. He turned on UT before the fans did. He didn't handle it great either. I wouldn't give the kid a hard time but just move on. We will get another guy.

Some of us? Do you know that the people tweeting him also post to this site? Do you even know that they are Vol fans at all or just people claiming to be Vol fans?

Recruiting didn't affect uga much with all their arrest. Fsu still doing good with all their junk. Forget the enemy media!

That said, Cherry was obviously going to flip before any of the twitter crap started up.

If he wasn't then why in the world would he all of a sudden start taking visits?

The staff knew the minute he did that it was time to move on and find someone else at his spot.

If the committed recruit says he wants to take/consider taking other visits, I have no issue at all with the coaches filling the spot with someone else. If the recruit is not shopping himself around, IMO his spot should be secure.

Always a chance that he changes his mind and commits while visiting. At least that's what I'm hoping for. :)
