'15 LB FL Cecil Cherry (former Vol commit)

He can get mad all he wants. When he called Texas his dream school and said everyone will "see where he ends up" on NSD, he sealed his own fate. He was just a pretender all along. If he's not a Vol on signing day, he was never a Vol to begin with.

Kirkland is a huge need now. The coaches must feel good enough about him to let things with Cherry go this far.

Reading through CC twitter he was all vol and from what I can tell just wanted to take some visits saying he just wanted to enjoy what he had earned. Guessing the coaches didnt take to well and he got mad they decided to move on.

I'll admit I'm not a fan of him saying he will wait to commit till the all star game. Would much rather see him commit on his UT trip and shut things down. If a kid is taking trips, he is in play for other schools.

After his comments today, I would not at all to see all the sites remove him from UT's commitment lists. No reason for him to be there any longer. JMO

With Kirkland saying things changed with UT and them having room for him, told me UT was not going to just drop Cherry for Kirkland. His TX trip cost him that spot. Other recruits need to be paying attention.

Dylan Jackson, Kyle Oliver, Darrell Taylor, and others should be on notice.

Depends on how staff views them but the three you named I don't think that would be the case because Jackson and Oliver are in state guys and Taylor is a guy you take all day. Those are also key positions of need.

Cherry is one that I'm not sure the staff felt he was a perfect fit for what they wanted at LB after awhile and seeing the success of the faster Lbs/former safety's in their system. They were going to honor the commitment as long as he was faithful and on board and bleeds orange. As soon as he opened up the crack and excuse to move on that's on him. It's a business. We were holding off on several LBs due to spots despite really liking Sapp and Kirkland.

Had to drop this dude on twitter, wow he has gone full retard.

So let me get this right, We are the ones that turned on him and are bad mouthing him? Yet before he took a visit to another school and called it his "dream school", no one had anything but love for this kid. Please don't blame the fans for you wavering on your word & commitment to a school and those fans. Kudos for removing UT commit.

From what I saw he was all vol, then went on a visit. Soon as he was back he went all fake UT and blew twitter up about Texas everything.

Of course we have had some fine upstanding Vol fans take it to a different level but for the most part its been more of him pushing Texas non stop.

UT fans should just simply drop him on twitter and him losing thousands of followers in minutes would be message enough. Don't tweet directly to the kid. Just ignore him as he decided to not be a Vol.

Spot on, LV...that's exactly what I think as well. And it's the perfect way to handle these situations IMO. We show you loyalty as long as it's returned. All bets are off when that line blurs though. It costs the coaches $0.00 to cut a guy from the commit list...and CBJ looooves him some free ****. :)

When he was saying Texas was his dream school and throwing the horns sign it was pretty obvious this was going to happen. At that point I did not get the continued love from some on here. No hate, just indifference. If a player is not all Vol why would we beg him to come. You win with warriors on the field. If you have what it takes to play every second of each game and leave your heart on the field for God, Neyland, all previous players, your family, the fans, and yourself then your loyalties to Tennessee are not divided and you do not have what it takes to be a VFL.

I'm still curious to see if he qualifies. I have no idea what his grades are, but he seems like he might have some troubles plus he had the transfer and we all know how the clearinghouse is.

He was solid, coaches told Kirkland no room, Cherry flirts with Texas, Vols coaches now have room for Kirkland. Cherry made his bed, and now he can lay in it and always know that if it weren't for Tennessee Volunteers his dream school would be in a state called "Texico."

Kids are 100% or they are uncommitted, and Cherry isn't so special that you make special exceptions for him. I'll take a guy with less talent over a wavering guy any day, who knows what kind of bull he could pull on Feb 4th?

I wanted Kirkland until he signed with UM, but I'd be all over him now of I weee Butch, and I'd say we're pushing pretty hard. We were in fact his number two so I don't see any problems wrapping him up if we want.

Not bashing the kid (intentionally...well maybe a little), but after reading some of this dude's tweets, I highly doubt he knows or will know much about history....or English...(I could go on, but no need)

good luck kid, personally however since i abhor texas. you can guess how i feel about the longhorns?

at any rate i have 0 doubt were in on bigger fish. im over it. lets move on.
