Some Texas fans on the 247 site were looking at Cecil's highlights. Needless to say, they were impressed! They couldn't believe he was a 3 *, especially with his offer list. Then they started talking about some of the players they have flipped from the real UT, (Santos, Cobb, Simms). Like they have a chance...

Ray Lewis mentioned to him something about flipping to Texas and this is the look he got from Mr Cherry!

Simms was before I started following recruiting. I'm not sure where he was from, but Santos and Cobb were both from Texas. That is a bit different than trying to flip a player from Florida. Especially one with Tennessee ties who has been committed for over a year. Sorry Charlie.

What are his ties to TN?

Cobb was Oklahoma, but he wanted that Texas offer. Cecil don't care

We need to redshirt Cherry. We have more than enough LBs to fill in special teams, and we need Cecil Cherry to stay until 2017 at the minimum. This would establish depth at linebacker while he can make his body a more efficient smashing machine.

He wouldn't be legible for the draft until AFTER the 2017 season.

We don't NEED to redshirt anybody before we've seen how they perform. You play the best no matter what, you play to win the game. It's gonna be hard to keep Cecil off the field. This kid will dominate as a freshman.
