I keep asking the question because guys like you refuse to answer it. You go to great lengths to discredit this kids abilities. I have never said he is going to come in right away, I feel the exact opposite.

I have said multiple times that any QB we get is likely going to RS. That would just help Gibson. That would give him his senior year and another year at the collegiate level to improve his game. It's almost like because of his junior stats, he cannot become a great passer. That's absolutely ridiculous.

There is no more question surrounding Gibsons potential success than any other QBs we are recruiting. You are HOPING that Jennings or Williams is going to be good. You are also HOPING that we land a stud QB in 2016. If CBJ decides to stop recruiting Gibson and decides to go another way, then I am perfectly fine with that.

IMO there are obvious questions surrounding his potential success. How many other QBs that we are in on were recently suspended from their football team and their high school?

Based on what evidence lol? The kid is a junior in high school. I mean, I understand that his late antics are cause for a little concern, but saying that he won't put his ego aside or work for it is a little much don't you think?

Not really. It's in his attitude. He sure isn't putting in the throwing work. We just dealt with Riley being entitled.

Are you VolNavyMan on VolQuest? Serious question you guys are identical in your retort. I'm not insinuating anything at all I actually tend to agree with a lot of your comments. it's just uncanny.

Nope. I don't have a subscription to any of the pay sites. I did years ago on Rivals so I could see film, but quickly realized it's available elsewhere for free.

Best post I've seen on here in about 5 or so years. Who cares if our QB throws the ball one time, as long as we win the game no one will care.

I can think of a whole bunch of WRs & TEs who would be VERY upset. Yes, I'm sure they want to win. I'm also sure they did not come to WRU to run block 95% of the game. JMO.

That like saying who cares if our defenders miss every tackle as long as we win. If we miss every tackle we won't win.

That's not like what I said, there's no way a team can win if they miss every tackle. It's plausible, not propable, for a QB to throw the ball one time and still be able to win the game. Auburn and Alabama probably could've done it to us this past year.

You don't have to have an NFL skill set as a QB to win in college. It's that simple.

Would we like somebody that has a great arm, is extremely accurate & has 4.4 speed as well? Of course. But those guys don't come around often..or maybe at all. I'd rather have an elite athlete that can run, make the short to intermediate throws, & occasionally hit a deep ball to some of our thoroughbreds, opposed to a drop back pocket passer..especially in this type of offense.

Nick Marshall is absolute trash as a passing QB but he's a hell of an athlete & can keep a defense honest. Was a huuuge part they made it to the NC. TG can be the same way for us. Improve his mechanics & accuracy little by little, keep that athleticism & we win a ton of games with him as the QB.

As a passing QB, yes. Some of his worst games with more than 10 attempts were:
Washington State 10-19, 52%
LSU 17-33, 51%
Texas A&M 11-23, 47%
FSU 14-27 51%

When he throws the ball occasionally he does pretty well for the most part..but when he's relied on to win a game through the air, his stats suffer.

Don't be surprised if he has a better season this season. The guy can throw a ball a country mile.

Auburn site is pretty confident they pull Gibson and some are predicting he commits this weekend. Looks like they are trying to cash in on their Big Cat Weekend...

How about when he misses the pass? I dont see this kid putting his ego aside to put in the work.

Clown Comment, Bro.

Didn't know having pride in yourself excluded one from working hard.

I can name a number of athletes who were deemed egotistical with renowned work ethics. Biggest one being Michael Jordan.

There may be a few that think like that, but most do not see a commitment this weekend. There are a couple of others on "commit watch" but he is not one of them.

(For those interested, Carl Lawson had a lingering knee problem from Spring practice and had surgery this week. Word is that me may well have to medical redshirt this year).

People are answering the question. You're getting frustrated because some people don't feel as strongly about TG as you do. You're HOPING that Gibson is as good as advertised. I mean it's not like you, I, or anyone else here is a talent evaluator. If so, you wouldn't be wasting your time here so much. Everything you're saying about the QB's not named Gibson can be turned around on you, and vice versa.

We have a lot of chips to play with here, IMO. Obviously, Gibson is going to go where he feels the most at home or makes the most money. However, we have a lot of "up-side" for him:

-MUCH more favorable depth chart

Gibson will come in and battle for the starting position against whoever is left after this season, much less summer practice. I predict use my homemade crystal ball that Fergy probably does leave, Dobbs will start next year, and possibly a Peterman transfer as well. That leaves a lot of open room at the QB position. If he doesn't start, he'll be the back up FOR SURE.

-Good quarterbacks coach

I don't think Coach Bajakian is a world beater at OC or necessarily as a QB coach, but the guys gets results. Especially so far this year. I think people were way to hard of some of these coaches last year. They want to run an up-tempo, spread offense with Dooley coaches players who were out of shape. Worley was still very raw. Does anyone even remember the name of our OC/QB coach Dooley's final season? They were leaning on Tyler Bray's ability to not screw up 60 percent of the time to make stuff happen. They didn't know how to develop at quarterback. Now we have a guy who is good at what he does. No he isn't Malzahn's, Kingsberry, or Sumlin, but I believe in Mike Bajakian's ability to bring a QB "in the way that he should go, so that when he is older, he shall not depart from it."

-We have better skill players that Auburn now

Y'all all now we have great skill positions now and UNBELIEVABLE depth at the receiver and back positions now. If Gibson thinks that he will have any better players to work with at AU, he's dead wrong and I'd tell him that to his face. While Auburn always reloads on it's JUCO play making talent every year, it is pretty obvious to be that we have WR and RB coaches on Azzani and Gillespie who are capable of developing these players into something special. Gibson to North/Malone/Pearson/Croom/Howard/Smith/Jackson/Young/Wolf/Helm/Branisel/...the list just goes. The boy will have great players to work with and in my honest opinion, BETTER players to work with than what Auburn is providing currently.

-Offensive scheme fit

I would about this, but I am bad at this stuff so all I will say is he is a better quarterback right now than Nick Marshall will be this season, IMO, and he will only get better at UT with out staff. Malzahn will pigeon hole him, Butch will let the kid develop.

GBO! Go Vols!

That would be a big loss re: Lawson. He started coming along last season and will totally change games if healthy.

We'd be hearing about how hard he's working to improve instead of hearing about his suspension from everything. This kid think he's gods gift to football. It's all in his actions.
