I can think of a whole bunch of WRs & TEs who would be VERY upset. Yes, I'm sure they want to win. I'm also sure they did not come to WRU to run block 95% of the game. JMO.

If our WRs and TEs are more concerned with their stats than the team winning then they need to rethink their priorities.

I wonder how upset Sammy Coates was last year? I wonder if he would trade playing in the NC game for much better receiving stats? If so then why not transfer to a much more pass happy offense? I am sure many teams would love to have him.

Coates is one of the leaders on the team and very unselfish. He did have over 900 yards receiving last year and third in nation YPC. I think the addition of Daquille Williams will lessen the double coverage that Coates had last year.

My response was to people saying it did not matter if we only threw the ball 1-5 times a game as long as we won. North, Pearson, Malone and others WOULD NOT have committed to Tennessee if the offense threw 1-5 passes a game. I'm confident in making that statement. You can call it them being selfish, but NFL caliber WRs, want to see the ball thrown their way. It's just the way it is.

And top tier RBs like hurd dont commit to run the ball 10x a game. They want to be a feature back. The point is a DT QB takes a lotof pressure off the O and more pressure on their D.

Our feature back last year got about 20 carries a game and we did not have QBs running all over the place.

So you wouldn't like to have a quarterback who could also scramble for touchdowns along with our elite WRs?

No, I would not.

His passing skills are not good enough to play QB at a school that is loaded with elite WR talent.

Once you load up with QBs lacking passing talents, you no longer sign plentiful crops of playmaking WRs.

Kind of like the old commercial that said "parts are parts". Yards are yards. Who gives a rip whether they come on the ground or in the air, just as long as there are lots of yards and we win. What tends to happen is when the D adjusts to a strong run game, a strong passing game messes them up and vice versa. Whether that happens with a DT or not I could care less. That is Butch's job to determine that. I just want to see the yards add up big time.

I tend to believe that due to the O-line's overall inexperience as a unit they could strongly benefit from an elusive runner at QB that could also complete quicker developing passes when not handing off to Lane and Hurd. Doesn't have to a be a DT, just a QB that is unafraid to pull it down and go. Will see if that happens.

Here is a simple request we can all agree on.

I want a QB who can accurately hit our WRs. I don't care if it is 1,10 or 100 passes a game. I want them to be accurate. Is that too much to ask?

Being accurate is a big part of it. I'll always felt the "4" for TG on 247's "accuracy" rankings(4 out of 10) should cause concerns.

Most other QB options we are in on are 8's or 9's.

FWIW.

Auburn is a quaint little town on the plains and ideal for a 30 something year old with a family and a couple of kids. With that being said there is nothing to do for a college kid outside of the local dives. The only place worse for a college kid is Starkville.

Starkville's trailer parks are cleaner and nicer than those in Alabama. More teeth per capita in Starkville than in Alabama (includes those on the plains).

You're right! I bet it was BOTH the briefcase full of money, and a new car, plus a chick in his hotel room when he got there. Sarcasm, obviously, but I just hate recruiting against Auburn. It makes me feel better to say they cheat than to just admit that they out-recruit us. Just being honest.
