I don't think so. Technically the coaches can't comment at all on a given recruit until they are signed so your not going to get a coach to say what he is being recruited as. It's also a lot of speculation if the staff would even take his commitment now at all. I get that a lot of fans see the *'s and think of course they would. Not always the case.

If it is true osu and au are backing off him, he may fall to UT. I'm not saying that is a good thing.

LV, if CBJ called you right now and said that TG wanted to commit and it was up to you if we accepted it or not, what would you say? Yes or no?

I'd say not right now. With the class still looking like about 20, IMO 2 QBs and both being major projects IMO would not be a good move. Closer to NSD maybe there is room or missing on a couple other positions has us in a "best available" situation. Then maybe it makes sense. As of today, I would not take him.

Not meant to sound silly re: payment of recruits but... Hey, if cbj evaluated the situation and understands the risk... buy low.

OSU and Auburn wouldn't "back off" of a 5* QB for anything less than a felony.

With the talent that UT recruits at WR and wants to keep recruiting top WRs, then it had better recruit top echelon drop back passers, instead of trying to make QBs out of RBs and WRs.

in our offense we don't have to have a drop back passer.Every person here would be happy with an offense and QB like nick Marshall.

Torrance Gibson is good enough at QB and athletic enough to be a dominant collegiate QB as he continues to learn. Let him come in and give him a shot at QB, period.

Some of yall think that only a pro-style prototypical will work here and that is asinine.

That's just it, I don't see a QB left on the board at this stage worth spending a much needed scholarship on. Gentry was IMO the last option I would have taken as a 2nd QB for 2015. Even he was 50/50 to me as I just don't think the class size sets up to take 2 QBs. Definitely not 2 major projects. As I have said before taking 2 QBs in 2015 hurts our chances of getting a top guy in 2016. Yes, I know people swear I am wrong. I said it would happen after taking Dobbs and Ferguson and it did. IMO it will happen in 2016 as well if the staff takes 2 this year. It's easy to negative recruit schools who take 2 QBs in a class.
