Double-talk here leads me to believe he didn't like the JJ commitment.

He can't expect schools to wait until just before NSD to take a QB commitment and risk not getting QB at all since most QBs commit early to help recruit for their class. I think he will change his thought of his commitment date.

Agreed. And it's not like we're going to be the only school that's recruiting him that will take multiple QBs. We won't be alone in the situation of taking 2+.

Doesn't Auburn have a 4 star QB already committed? And they took a 4 star QB last year as well. UT's depth chart should still be more favorable.

That's true.

At the beginning of the 2015 season, Auburn will have:

- Jeremy Johnson (2013, upcoming JR)
- 4* Sean White (2014, upcoming RS FR or SO)
- 4* Tyler Queen (2015, incoming FR)

All 3 are pro-style QB's though so Gibson's style could fit if Malzahn feels like moving in a different direction. Either way, he'd be battling some talented QB's in his time at AU.

Seriously. His comments about meeting Cam probably didn't sit well with there fan base. Reporter was just trying to bait him into saying something bad about his obvious favorite program.

It really isn't that big of a deal.

He's just weighing his options. No one that I've read and heard from some outrageous reaction to anything he's said thus far.

I think it's good that he's coming to A-Day though.

This recruiting battle will come down to the wire. Should be interesting but won't make or break anyone's recruiting class.

I think you're correct. I don't think highly ranked QBs shouldn't be too worried by competition. They're going to have to beat out the current QBs on team rosters where ever they go.

I don't think UT will be in a recruiting battle for a QB to the wire.

I think Gentry commits in the next 4-6 weeks and Tennessee and Gibson fall a little less in love with each other.

I don't see anything wrong with Gibson's comments about Jennings. Of course the commitment list of the schools he's considering should be a factor in his decision.

Yep, I think Gentry is done by summer and is a Vol. If Gibson wants to compete, take him too.

Thats my thinking as well.

I thought Johnson was a mobile QB.

In any event, I'm more concerned about Ohio State as competition for Gibson. It doesn't sound like they have anybody experienced or particularly talented to replace Braxton Miller next year, and Gibson is their top QB target: New philosophy for recruiting quarterbacks?
