I can understand why he feels that way. At all the camps hes been to, he has had trouble throwing the ball and moved to WR. If you watch his highlight film, about 75% of the plays are him running the ball. And a large percentage of his passes were screens. Since we have had sub par QB play, you want to make sure you get someone who has a great and consistent arm. Gibson is more of a threat with his feet. His completion % was just over 50% and it seems like most were screens. Hes a great athlete and I hope we get him, but I can see the concern
Sure, Gibson has had some trouble at camps throwing the football. I won't dispute that.
Gentry looks to be on paper a much more prolific passing QB than Gibson.
However, it is still absolutely ridiculous to infer that UT would not want or accept Gibson's commitment and want him to go elsewhere. And that was the original comment I replied to.
