Gibson is a different breed of athlete than Tee Martin. He is one of the best athletes in the state of Florida. Comparable athlete to Nick Marshall, but not quite as shifty because of being a long strider.

I don't think I would classify Gibson as having a big arm. Solid arm, but not on the same level as Gentry. He is a noticeably better athlete than Jauan Jennings, who is considered to be one of the best pure athletes in the state of Tennessee.

This.

Gibson has the deep ball arm and the simple short routes. Needs some work in the pocket with his footwork like many young QBs. The highlights showed very little with his ability to handle progressions. If he was a college freshman and you had him in the QB role last season instead of Dobbs, the team would been better on offense because he runs the zone read naturally with great athleticism and has an equal arm to Dobbs IMO.

The team will be in a far different place when he arrives on campus if he chooses us. He could RS and develop into a strong candidate when it became his turn.

Ya so I went to auburn And spoke with cam newton... I swear auburn is such a dirty program. It amazes me they never get in serious trouble. I hear more stories about possible cheating or rule bending at auburn than anywhere else by far. They make urban Meyer look like mother Teresa,

I have to disagree I've watched this guy and he has throw 40 yard bombs on the run. His arm is just a good as Gentry. You also have to take into account that Gibson plays against far superior competition than Gentry faces. Gentry is a good QB though I just think Gibson is going to be a better QB. I've seen Gibson go through progressions and have to read the whole field.

With Gentry I see him make one check then scramble. He isn't that fast either. Yes he ran away from the players on his tape but he's playing against players who aren't that fast either. If he played against a South Florida team the LBs would walk him down consistently. I think Gentry is a good QB I just believe if he comes in he wouldn't be a real contributor until his Junior year because of his HS offense.

You had some good points there...too bad they weren't in English.

Deep throws don't have a lot to do with arm strength, unless you are talking about Vick or Nick Marshall 70 yard wrist flicks.

Gibson has a solid arm (average SEC arm), but Gentry has elite arm strength. He can throw the 15-20 yard outs on the run or off of his back foot with exceptional velocity. He does it several times in his film.

No one is questioning Gibson's athleticism. He is a tremendous athlete. Gentry is a comparable athlete to Dobbs and Ferguson.

We will just have to agree to disagree cause a high school player that can throw the ball that deep down the field on the run does has good arm strength throwing on the run is all arm strength. I've seen Gibson reverse the field twice reset is feet and hit a hell of a bomb. I just think he is far better. Gibson looks a lot like Bridgewater coming out of HS same throwing ability and Gibson is a better athlete. Go look at Bridgewater's tape.

Gentry is not even an athlete of Dobbs and Ferguson's level they even played tougher competition. Gentry looks like he runs a 4.9 and everyone else is running sub 5 40 times. I just see Gentry being a good College QB not doubt but as a game manager at the next level. He won't loose you any game but he won't win you any either.

I wasn't calling it racist, I was making fun of how every time someone says a black recruit is well spoken, someone starts saying that the statement was racist.

It's because you don't often see folks saying "he's so well spoken" when they talk about a white guy.

No offense man...I don't know who you are and it's possible you may be a QB guru. BUT, Erik Ainge recently did an analysis of Gentry and he is VERY high on the kid. I know Ainge is a homer but he is also a former NFL QB. If he is saying the kid is elite then I have to defer to him over you.

Ask Erik how much of his college career he remembers lol... Smh, I like him but to say he is a great evaluator of talent is a stretch. Now homer? Nailed it. I like Gentry as a pure passing qb, but with the strain Gibson could put on a defense with his legs would only help make his throws downfield easier, being that the defense will always have their eyes in the backfield.

The way the game is evolving, it's almost necessary to have a qb who can make plays with his feet. I think Nick Marshall is a god awful passer, but their two-headed monster coming out of the backfield always kept defenses honest and allowed him LOTS of single coverage down-field. Give me that coupled with our receiving core and I'm GOOD.

None taken man I enjoy a good debate. But ex players are the worst talent evaluating talent it's well documented. It wasn't like he was a top pick either he was a 5th round pick. There are former NFL scouts who believe Gibson has the raw ability to be a Good passer.

I'm not in the debate of Gibson vs. Gentry. I hope we take/get both of them and see how it plays out. I was simply pointing out that you seem pretty down on Gentry...which seems to be against the grain of what most think about him.
