There isn't. I bet Frank Beamer and Mack Brown are really kicking themselves that they didn't put Vick and Vince Young at WR in college due to their elusiveness seen in their respective high school films.

I know right? I bet Brown hated that Young was such a good QB and led his team to that NC.

I do think he could be a quality option at WR. Only issue there is where we have North, Pearson, Malone, and all the other talent there, it could be a while before he see's the field. Of course there are other things that could factor into that. Does he play QB his SR year? If so, it could slow his development at WR. Does he even play for American Heritage HS at all as a SR? IF he changes schools, where would his new coach play him? A lot to still be determined here IMO.

Talent at a certain position breeds competition. This is a good thing.

Or we could sign Gibson.
Jennings decides to move to safety.
Jennings finds his true home.
Future AA
Gibson perfects his craft and is also named AA.

WIN WIN

If you are predicting Jennings future to safety then you must be predicting Gibson's future as an All American as a wide reciever, which leaves us with Dormady as QB. I'll allow it.

Also this thread is getting Grudenesque in the stuff people are willing be believe. Since we took a second QB and Gibson is still listening to us and has us as number one it seems to me that he is at least willing to listen to the coaches selling him on being a WR. my 2 cents

Right now VN could use a little of that. The offseason seems to have made a great many of us crazy which wouldn't be so bad if we weren't all so angry and irritable to boot.

Eh, Volnation just on the rag. No offense to the ladies out there I love each and everyone of you.

I thought about saying that but changed my mind because we tend to call each other girls all the time when boys would work just as well and children/toddlers/temper tantrum would work as well or better.

For me, I've got nieces I adore and don't want them thinking I consider them less than the nephews I adore so I try to limit my use of using girl/women as an insult and stay neutral. Not a PC thing so much as making sure that they know I love them no matter what and wanting them to know they can go into anything not just girlie stuff but math and science if they want. They're worth just as much to me and getting in the habit of saying acting like children or toddlers helps make sure I instill that in them.

That said since we're all adults here, I gotta agree VN's definitely on the rag! :)

Bringing politics into recruiting? I bet you're a blast in real life lol.

But seriously, he's more than entitled to his opinion but do you have a link or proof of Gibson's lack of "intensity and attitude"? That's the part I was responding to.

Please, enlighten me.

I don't have proof of anything other than YOU attacking and putting people down because they have a different opinion than you. That I have proof of and it is so not called for. Agree to disagree without personal attacks.

Oh yeah, I don't know if I have ever believed there was anything a girl couldn't do that a guy could, except admit when shes wrong :p . Sometimes the only way to get a point across is to go to an extreme. It was all being said in good fun.

Oh I know and didn't think you were causing any harm (in fact I agree it's a good description for VN right now). My nieces are just young so getting into the habit is more for me (so I don't screw it up and make them feel like being all they should strive for is being pretty). Last thing I want is for them to grow up and think their only value is their body or looks - that leads to very bad things!

As for admitting being wrong - I think that's a wife/gf thing. LOL.

No, I really can't remember a time when I heard a female admit she was wrong and actually believed it.

Anyway..... gibson, I would like to get him in orange, no homo, I would think we can find room for an athlete like him. Especially if we take him as a wide receiver who could be moved to QB if needed. (just to switch this whole debate around)

Surely it happened once or twice? I can't really recall it either but odds are it happened some time even if it was only once or twice at low volume. :eek:lol:

As to Gibson, I think he's a QB first and a WR only if it doesn't work out but I can appreciate the switch up. That said, he's only ever played QB for a year and he's already shown some fantastic ability. The potential is there and on some things in the passing game he's already shown some drool worthy stuff. JMO.

I got in trouble for that the other day and apologized but there are 2 to 3 others that have been doing ALOT of that in this thread, so don't start singling me out.

I have absolutely ZERO problem with anyone else having a different opinion than me. My problem is that there is about 4 posters give or take, that are in here regularly and they take personal shots at the kid which is uncalled for. If you haven't noticed, THAT'S when this thread blows up quickly. I'm sure you're smart enough to figure out who these people are when you look at the traffic in this thread.

You don't think TG will be a QB? Fine, cool whatever. It's their opinion and they're entitled to it, no matter how delusional it is.

Ragging on the kid for having transportation problems, then using that as a way to say he's scared of competing? That's grade-A bull**** and completely uncalled for imo.

Start out at WR and QB is an option if the position loses depth to transfer/injury? I might be able to go for that. As I have said my biggest issue is the idea of taking 3 who would line up as QBs day 1 at UT. 1st concern is IF you take a 3rd, do you lose one or both the other guys committed. 2nd concern is the appearance it gives to the 2016 QBs. Yes, I get it that 6 months to a year after they get to UT they could be moved to other positions. That would not help with landing a guy in 2016 though. Actually it makes it worse. Both "ATH's" end up switching spots and no guy in 2016 and your back trying to get 2-3 in a class in 2017.

I hope it brings you all happiness knowing the ridiculous amount of wasted time in your life that was spent arguing about a 17 year old kid.

:dance2: made LV happy!!! :dance2: Like i said even after we took Dormady's commitment Gibson came out and put us back on top... to me it seems like the coaches are selling something to Gibson and just to try it out, and going off of Gibson playing WR in camp(s) and not QB. I see him now as an Athlete that might be a QB, not a QB who might be an Athlete if QB doesn;t work out that we already have in Jennings. again not knocking Jennings or Gibson, let the debate!!!!

It would be awesome if there was a Torrance Gibson Recruiting Thread and another thread for Torrance Gibson QB/WR Discussion thread. That would make this thread at least 50% smaller and real quotes/recruiting updates would actually be accessible.

Torrance Gibson's Status, Travis Waller's Offer, Andre James' Visit and More | Eleven Warriors

(Article)THE GIBSON SITUATION
As documented recently, there are some red flags surrounding Torrance Gibson, the nation's top-ranked athlete in the 2015 class. Rumors of altercations at school and an overall shift in his attitude had started to contribute to some wondering whether or not he was worth pursuing.

Despite those flags, Gibson's talent keeps people clinging to the idea of "if we can just get him on campus, maybe things will shift." Unfortunately for Ohio State, Gibson's been unable to make it to campus, despite a number of trips to other colleges, some as far away as Norman, Oklahoma.

He recently spent a number of days in Knoxville, Tennessee and has already scheduled a return trip for later this month. That trip came after a repeat visit to Auburn, and the Buckeyes, despite repeated efforts to get him to commit to a visit; have been unable to secure one.

Why is that? How is that? That's anyone's guess. Clearly there are people around Gibson who've had no issues getting him where he wants or is asked to be, yet Ohio State's been left out of the picture.

I have serious doubts he'll commit to us after the commitment of Dormady, but if....IF....we can land both of those guys, then...
