You're the one making the claims, not me. The burden of proof is on you. Assumptions are never a safe thing. The only thing they do is lead to stupid ideas.

There is absolutely nothing obvious out there that proves anything about how good Gibson can become as a passer.

Of course I did link an article where Gibson was up for a throwing award from ESPN. I mean it was a great throw and it's funny top guys like Rosen and Town didn't have any of their throws up for the award. But whatever.

I offered up the kids Twitter account as evidence. He hasn't been to any throwing camps, and skipped out on Gruden. I haven't hears any quotes from VQ or 24/7 that disprove it. It's a safe conclusion based on that reasoning that he's not working hard on improving his craft. An award from a bunch of crony sportswriters doesn't mean jack for me. People diss Tyler Bray all the time on here, but he throws an amazing deep ball.

Butcher actually posted he's doing work. Bad example.

If a kid doesn't come here because of what I said, then he's a mental midget. Mental midgets have no place on our football team.

Watch his game film. He runs more than he throws. You can see his elusiveness that would benefit him at WR.

I agree. Word was he was moved to WR at a couple camps. There was no report he had been moved to CB. A WR who can't catch the ball, is usually moved to CB pretty quickly.

Just read through about 20 pages.... why? Im not sure. What did I learn? To skip 95% of the posts.

Yeah, I try to log on to see any TG news and all I see is a bunch of idiots cat fighting over who is a hater or not. These people must not have much going in their lives to use this board to hissy fit one another.

There aint no news. Sorry.

LV, it is obvious we are using logic and common sense with some young kids who just do not understand how recruiting actually works. They want to hold onto their fandom of a particular player and stare intently into the stars next to his name and believe that is the sole reason why he will succeed.….that and of course, they think he is going to be Nick Marshall in the UT offense, which is not going to happen, because we do not run the Auburn read option.

Burger, LV and myself want to see this kid in Orange and White and we understand where his future lies based upon his skill set, in watching the film of the players, and in how Butch Jones has been recruiting the various positions. Some of these kids just will not let go of their fantasy.

Yeah, because "elusiveness" is all you need in a wide receiver....to hell with ball catching ability and route running. He's a freaking DT QB. Leave it alone already.

I don't know, but it seems to me that the kid needs some big time guidance. He is super talented, but appears to be off course in how to handle advancing his potential career or life itself.

Kinda runs counter to some of the arguments from the Gibson camp..."you take him because he's a phenomenal athlete...if he doesn't win the QB job, you can use his speed somewhere". Sound familiar? If Dormady win the starting nod, heckuva waste of said talent, if he can't be used elsewhere.

The "He's definitely a WR at the next level" crowd are hilarious. We have multiple analysts saying he is a great QB and has an extremely high ceiling at the position. We have impressive QB film especially considering it was his first year playing the position. We have Jones, Malzhan, Meyer, and other coaches that want him at QB. On the other hand, we have rumors of him playing WR at one or two camps, and that has some people on here so convinced he's a WR at the next level, they actually have the nerve to talk in a condescending manner to those that disagree with them. Calling people kids, emotional, butthurt, and saying all sorts of ridiculous things simply because we roll with our eyes, offers, and paid analysts over rumors, and the opinions of people on a message board that have an extremely over inflated view of themselves and their way of thinking. It really is laughable.

Man, this is some hardcore educating... Everyone knows he could potentially move elsewhere, but you aren't acknowledging that he only has one year at the position in your expert film analysis. Also, gtfo with this whole "young kids" thing... You're pretty annoying for someone who is wrong half the time, while taking pay information and twisting it to sound like your own.

You people are delusional if you think that message board chatter would somehow keep talent off of the team. If there is a recruit who wouldn't come play for UT because a couple of people on VN didn't like his game, then I wouldn't want that kid on the team anyway.

Must be new. Kids, parents of kids, etc have acknowledged checking out these boards during their recruitment. Not saying it will be the reason a kid comes to UT or not, but it could be a determining factor.

Acceptable casualties if they use that as a factor ...is the ultimate solution for us to only offer preapproved opinions?... cuz that ain't happening. :stop:

This. It's been documented that a fanbase can factor into a decision.

I never said anything about it working. I simply said that there were those who admitted to trying to doing it.... but I'm sure a parent/s would want their kid going somewhere they think grown ass men hate them... jeez, this thread...

Welcome to big boy football. We're not any different from any other big time fans. Kids who use a message board to make decisions don't deserve the chance at the big time.

Where have you gotten a "hate" vibe on this thread...even Tux likes TG as a WR...it seems if you don't give him an affirmative nod for future all-pro signalcaller, that you're deemed a hate criminal...extreme view. :glare:

Not much difference than a jihadist Muslim. I honestly think free speech in America is going down the toilet.
