'15 FL QB/WR/DB (anything he wants) Torrance Gibson

He didn't really in college. Not that I recall.

Uhhh....that was the prime of his career in terms of poor life choices. Ainge and Tennessee were just really good at hiding it.

It seems to me that you just have a personal preference for quiet, no-nonsense, unassuming personalities at QB. You have gone to great lengths to convince that these are the only types who can be successful. Colin Kaepernick, Cam Newton, Jay Cutler, Mike Vick, Johnny Manziel, and Phillip Rivers all disagree with that notion.

LOLOLOLOL did you seriously just use ainge as an example of a qb not having issues?!?!? HAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm not one to throw a former Vol great under the bus...but...
Not to mention that Casey Clausen was universally known to be a tremendous a-hole to everyone lol. He won games, but he wasn't well-liked. With that said, I wouldn't mind having a jerk under center if he's winning.

Torrance Gibson, like many kids in south Florida, grew up liking the Miami Hurricanes. He favored them early in the process. The 5-star QB, along with his offensive coordinator at Plantation (FL) American Heritage Mario Perez, will visit Miami this evening. Gibson will then head to Auburn this weekend for Big Cat Weekend. The nation's No. 1 dual-threat QB will announce his Top 7 before his Miami visit tonight. Stay tuned to 247Sports.com for the in-depth release of his final cut and the latest scoop on the recruitment of the No. 5 overall recruit in Florida.

Hmm. Didn't Miami just take a QB last week?

Just curious. IF he releases his "Final" 7 and they are in order, why not just commit? I mean if it's "final", would the school at the top not be where he is going?

:zeitung_lesen:

I think the "final" was referring to the final 7 schools that he will consider. As in, no other school will be considered if they dont make the list

I know he doesn't attend QB camps.

I know he's been temporarily kicked off his team in the past.

Never heard of Manning, Clausen, Ainge, Worley, or Dobbs having any of those issues...did you?

Hmmmm.... doesnt attend camps? Thats news to me. Didnt he attend like 3 camps a little while ago?.... I mean, he did end up getting moved to WR at one.

Rapid paring down here!...at this pace we should get his Final 6 by December!! :pilot:

No, we took an athlete we are trying to make into a QB in case Butch and the gang whiff's on the position. Landing Gibson would put my mind at ease as a UT fan.

Why? Because we would then have two athletes that are trying to play QB?

I am fine with having Jennings. He is raw, but with hard work could turn out okay.

I also would be happy with Gibson, the same story...

But If we get these two guys, I don't see any polished QB's knocking down our door.

Started from the bottom now we here

What does he not "give to you straight"?

Because he's not 100% decided who he want to play for as a junior in high school, he's an "immature, bratty, attention whore"?

Perhaps you should question your own maturity level.

Well announcing that you will be announcing that you will be taking part in one of the all America games is pretty questionable...

You guys can talk all the **** you want, but I guarantee he doesn't end up a Vol.

Well he's going to end up somewhere. We're on his list of desired destinations. So it's actually realistic that he could end up here. He might. He might not. But your guarantees don't mean squat.

Sounds kind of similar to what would play out IF they take Gibson.

Not really. Played against better talent. Runs a 4.4 40. Crazy strong arm. Jennings has played QB 1 year against lesser talent. Not really similar at all. That being said Jennings is an amazing addition and great talent. I'm just not sure he's on the same level as Gibson at the QB position. There is a reason guys are listed as QBs and other guys are listed as athletes that have played some QB. A lot of schools weren't even looking at Jennings as a QB.

I hate statements like this on Vol Nation with a passion (guarantee was thrown around a lot during the Gruden fiasco). You can not guarantee he doesn't end up a Vol, that is an objective fact to your subjective opinion, and no one can guarantee he will end up one. Only reason you would even say that is so you can come back if he goes anywhere else (which subjectively I would say is 50/50 at this point), and go "I told you so" like a 4th grader.

Whether his "guarantee" is correct or not, he's still wrong, because at best it's just a guess. He doesn't know anything.

He won't be getting props from me if he doesn't come here.

100% agreed. Gibson dominates one of the strongest areas of high school football in the country.

Y'all know Gibson had a five star running back and a four star (dynamic) wide receiver last season, correct? Turned a lot of those screen passes into long TD's.
