Does it bother anyone else that he wants to be a QB in college, but he is skipping a chance to attend a Gruden QB camp where he could showcase his QB skills? Especially since the camp is at his #1college?

It doesn't bother me...it should bother his fan club on here. :)

Exactly. But it's not like Bates was seriously going to go anywhere else. This kid, to my knowledge, has no ties to the T. He does, however, seem to like attention. A lot of coaches, no matter how talented he is, are going to leave him behind because of this.

Terrell Pryor ring a bell?

Attention whore with a piss poor work ethic and a HUGE ego...doesn't quite sound like an Aaron Murray, Connor Shaw, AJ McCarron, Tim Tebow, Casey Clausen, Chris Leak, or any other top SEC QB.

Do you know anything about his work ethic? Serious question.

Honest question.....Why do people who don't want him at Tennessee keep posting in his thread? If you think he is not a good fit here then go post in another QB thread.... preferably one you approve of......

You must be new around these here parts, CoastyPop :)

Seriously, where have you been? Have not seen you post much...doing alright?

I know he doesn't attend QB camps.

I know he's been temporarily kicked off his team in the past.

Never heard of Manning, Clausen, Ainge, Worley, or Dobbs having any of those issues...did you?

I still think this is speculation. As far as I know, his being suspended from his team had nothing to do with work ethic, and maybe he can't afford to pay his way to QB camps. I admit, I'm playing devil's advocate here, but only to prove that your argument is speculative.

Yet he/his family is paying for UOV's all over the country?

He wants to play QB in college, I'm fine with that. I know if I were wanting to play QB and even my HS coaches were trying to move me to WR, I would not risk going to camps where I may struggle and my chances at QB in college drops big time. He went to some type of camp/7 on 7 event and was moved to WR once already. Obviously if I felt I was one of the top QBs in the nation I would go win some of these bigger events for QBs and solidify myself among the best. JMO

Leb I may have missed this in the other threads...so forgive me for asking. Who is your new flavor at QB out of the guys "left"?

Jennings
Dormandy
Williams walk-on

I'd roll with that.

You have your DT guy in Jennings but would need time to develop. Dormandy is more of a pure passer but can still move really well. Williams IMO could be the best passer of the bunch and would be a steal as a walk-on.

I'd also keep an eye on the Juco scene IF Riley is indeed gone. Ja'Quay Garmon, Deondre Ford, and Kylen Binn look like decent options.

Regardless of your feelings about Gibson, I think he would be important to this class even if he never played a single down here. I think he is just one piece of a puzzle that includes Ricky DeBerry, Tim Settle, and others. Even if he is a "bust" (which I personally do not think he will be) he could help us get some other high end talent. JMO though.

So we think he is a bad fit for our team and we should express this in the Quentin Darmody thread?

Strange indeed....:eek:k:

I don't see Gibson ending up at Tennessee. Honestly, with all of this Twitter list drama, he seems like a bratty little attention whore, and I'd much rather take a mature kid who gives it to you straight (Hurd, Malone, Worley, to name a few).

I think this kid ends up being a bust no matter where he goes. Just my opinion.

What does he not "give to you straight"?

Because he's not 100% decided who he want to play for as a junior in high school, he's an "immature, bratty, attention whore"?

Perhaps you should question your own maturity level.
