Saw on Twitter a Rivals guy spoke with TG and Gibson told him that UCF, Miami and Ohio State will be in his top 7. If I had to guess his top 7 today I would say:

#1 Auburn
#2 Tennessee
#3 Ohio State
#4 LSU
#5 Clemson
#6 Miami
#7 UCF

I think UT is still a little more attractive than Auburn because they signed one of the TOP QB last class and he may red shirt this year. He can come in to UT compete for a starting position or at least 2nd string.

You must be new around these here parts, CoastyPop :)

Seriously, where have you been? Have not seen you post much...doing alright?

Not been in these threads in a while doc....just trying to stir up the rebellious crowds :)

How are things in the heat of Texas...still picking the cactus out of read end?

How are the VN withdrawals going bro?

I know he doesn't attend QB camps.

I know he's been temporarily kicked off his team in the past.

Never heard of Manning, Clausen, Ainge, Worley, or Dobbs having any of those issues...did you?

So how does any of these things affect his ability to be a college QB? Serious question.

True but Gibson also played against wayyyy better competition than any of the other QBs on our board. I'd imagine the adjustment to an SEC defense's speed won't be as hard for Gibson as it would be for Jennings or any other QB.

It's a double edged sword. Sure TG had great talent around him but he also faced great talent and destroyed those teams.

Remember. While Gibson plays at 5A in Florida... there are 8 classes in Florida whereas there are 5 in Texas.

Both states are hard to deny in terms of quality competition. 5/8A in Florida gets an edge over 3/5A in Texas, but not by much.

I guess that would depend on why he was actually kicked off the team. It wouldn't so much effect his QB play, but it could as far as being on a college team.

Also, as far as not attending camps. It could be because he got moved to WR at one. My guess would be that there is only so much $$$ his family is willing to spend on travel, and they/he thought it would be best spent visit schools. Which I tend to agree with.

FTR, Im just playing devil's advocate, I tend to agree with you.

Y'all know Gibson had a five star running back and a four star (dynamic) wide receiver last season, correct? Turned a lot of those screen passes into long TD's.

True. Also I can almost bet that if Gibson came here, threw nothing but screens to the WRs and RBs and won a bunch of games, the naysayers would not say a word.

Gibson's film shows he throws the deep ball very well. If he comes here and 80% of his throws are screens who cares if we are winning? If having Gibson equates to winning, I don't care if he only throws it 5 times a game.

Not this guy.

I was just explaining the discrepancy between Jennings/Gibson's numbers. It certainly helps to have those dynamic players. He took it advantage of it, as he should.
