IDK about fact but the QB situation is the one card Clemson had to play over UT. You can bet that is a consideration. Not trying to bash you, but you know this is a "fact" because.....? Seems to me Clemson has a bunch of unproven QB's, and UT has a bunch of mostly unproven QB's. At least we can point to Worley's performance and say "This is our fall-back option"...which isn't that bad and beat South Carolina....which beat Clemson (sorry had to do it).
Just out of morbid curiosity... how in the world do you know what Malone thinks between Dobbs/Ferg and Watson?
This sounds more like anecdotes, conjecture and projection than it does hard facts.

Dabo is in his 6th year at Clemson. He's 1-3 versus Fisher's FSU and 1-5 versus South Carolina... who Jones happens to already be 1-0 against.
Clemson's place in the pecking order has been firmly established under Swinney.
Because Clemson wouldn't even be in the race if that was the case. It's not a projection, just look at his quotes.
IMO, Tenn would have had this thing locked up a long time ago if he didn't have major questions about who is going to be throwing him the ball.
I interpreted as, Josh 'wants' to come to UT, but from a "business standpoint," he may feel that he 'needs' to go to Clemson.
He's won 18 straight by double digits against unranked opponents too. Bet the Vols would be loving a double digit win over the Vandy's of the world. He's also beat a top 10 LSU and a top 5 UGA team. To act like he hasn't won big games is just being extremely selective in your argument.
Oh, and I completely agree with you on the USCjr thing. Nobody wants that whole fiasco to stop more than me. It's just one of those things, but to try and spin it like our program sucks is just not accurate.

But according to your logic, his dad's favorite team was still Ole Miss. And that is my point. Not every parent is selfish enough to make their child's college selection about themselves. I think most want the child to make the best selection for the child.
It could be true that he has bought into that...but we don't know how Clemson spun their pathetic Offensive performance against an SEC D either. Easy to look dynamic against 75% of offenses in ACC. Maybe that's how the sold it. You can put up huge numbers against irrelevant teams with no one watching.
That performance provided TN with points against the argument. If Taj was that bad, those guys are worse.
He may still pick Clemson though.
I'll be disappointed but I don't think he is going to buy into that. Morris departing could have a lot more potential impact on Clemson's offense than a QB recruit who has proven nothing yet. And again despite our QB concerns Worley performed better within UT's offense with lesser talent than Clemson did against Carolina with their loaded offensive system. The UGA game was neck and neck for both teams. But I would look at apples to apples and say UT's system looks better against the same competition. No, I think we absolutely need him more. But it makes it sound like he's a commodity instead of an student athlete.
I don't know. Just bugs me. Guess I'm trying not get my hopes up.
