'14 TN WR Josh Malone (UT commit 12/4/13)

I am the one that threw out the Von Bell comparison but I was not comparing the situations, merely stating that it wouldn't surprise me if he went to Clemson in the 11th hour. I am not beating a dead horse but Bell did lie to the coaching staff and the Ridgeland coaching staff and I will leave it at that because it happens a lot.

A couple things here from a Clemson side of things.

-Watson will not be the favorite to start next year. He probably has a better chance of redshirting than starting, IMO.
-Stoudt would have started for Tenn this past year, and if healthy, I believe Chad Kelly would have too.
-Ferguson might even have a better career than Watson, but you are missing the point if you think that is what matters. The fact is that Malone has bought into Watson (and our QB situation for that matter), and hasn't bought into Tenn's. Rather it plays out that way or not, on Dec 3rd 2013 he doesn't believe our QB situation are even.

Again, this doesn't mean I think he selects Clemson. Tenn has a lot of things in their favor, and I won't believe he won't end up there until I see it.

Luckily we'll all know tomorrow. I'll wish him the best of luck regardless of which way he goes, as I admire how him and his family has handled his recruitment.

Just out of morbid curiosity... how in the world do you know what Malone thinks between Dobbs/Ferg and Watson?

This sounds more like anecdotes, conjecture and projection than it does hard facts.

99.9% of the time I agree with you. But this is laughable...at best.

And I didn't feel a lot would, but it's how I have felt throughout this one.

If he picks Clemson and we all get our feelings hurt because we've felt like we've been toyed with and strung along for months now, then I'm afraid a lot more will feel this way.

All sorts of things will be questioned.

How does the potential loss of Chad Morris effect this? Dude is going to be a HC somewhere, it's only a matter of time. Sad thing is I don't think Dabo and Clemson will be the same without him. Well, considering who you ask. I won't be sad at all :).

He has never came out and said we led or anything. If we are getting toy'd, it is by the media, not Josh

Cool to have a look from the other side. Stick around afterward regardless of where Malone goes.

Not trying to bash you, but you know this is a "fact" because.....? Seems to me Clemson has a bunch of unproven QB's, and UT has a bunch of mostly unproven QB's. At least we can point to Worley's performance and say "This is our fall-back option"...which isn't that bad and beat South Carolina....which beat Clemson (sorry had to do it).

Thanks for the post.... good to get different perspective

And Peyton would have been a Rebel if not for what happened to his brother.

But according to your logic, his dad's favorite team was still Ole Miss. And that is my point. Not every parent is selfish enough to make their child's college selection about themselves. I think most want the child to make the best selection for the child.

He doesn't. He is making it up. Just like the ones who keep saying Ferg was ahead of Dobbs when its been proven he wasn't. If anything Dobbs getting some experience helps us.

You completely missed my point. If Malone can buy into a QB that hasn't hit a college campus yet (Watson), I find it fairly easy that he can buy into a QB of the future that has actually been on a campus for an entire year (Ferguson).

That's an EASY sell for our coaches if he's as enamored with Watson as the Clemson side believes.

Yes, and look at what happened to Taj against an SEC defense on the road this past weekend. That had to help our staff. Look at what the QB starting over those 2 did against an SEC D and not GA which lost a lot of starters from last year.

Dabo is in his 6th year at Clemson. He's 1-3 versus Fisher's FSU and 1-5 versus South Carolina... who Jones happens to already be 1-0 against.

Clemson's place in the pecking order has been firmly established under Swinney.

I won't get my feelings hurt (disappointed maybe), because I DON'T think he has "strung along" anyone. He will pick where he wants to go and I don't think any of the other schools can say they didn't give it every effort available. It's not like he has come out and publically named "leaders" which change all the time or commit/decommit to different schools repeatedly.

Don't need to go down this rabbit hole, but how was it "proven" he wasn't? Ferg was ahead of him early on, why else would he travel with the team as the 3rd QB on the road leaving Dobbs behind? CBJ has gone on record saying Dobbs was the only QB heathy as to the reason it was Dobbs that got the start when Worley went down.
