Why would the outcome of either game affect Josh's decision?

Just curious because his recruitment has always been described as so mature / low key / methodical that I would not think 1 weekend's games could ultimately help decide his choice.

I thought it would be based more on the people and feeling than 2013 results.

There seems to a prevailing though that Malone has developed questions regarding our QB situation. Tomorrow might change that to some degree

I think butch n co are putting so much effort into josh because he truly is the final most important piece to make this class perfect. The legacies plus Hurd Malone Gaulden Mosely and Barnett make this a slam dunk. This class is gona be great regardless, but missing on Josh would leave it somewhat with a 2nd place feel rather than being completely perfect. JMO.

Malone is more important than UK IMO. What we need is for us to destroy UK and for USCe to roll over Clemson. That would help alot

Not sure that either will happen. But I do put more importance on the UK game. If we were to loose that game it would be the first time in history that UT has lost 8 games in a season. Only two schools can say that, UT and Ohio State. Recognizing that we are currently in the worst era of UT football ever I think that the symbolism of a loss at Kentucky seals the program's image as a "has been." When was the last time that UT lost to both UK and Vandy in the same year?

Before you think that outlook is an outlier then ask people what they predict the record for 2014. Most are saying 6-6. That would be something completely unheard of for major state institution sporting a 100,000 seat stadium and playing SEC football. 5 non-winning seasons in a row. That would be a "has-been."

I have the same feeling as you bro...agree with this post completely.

1954.

So called "has-been" status would easily be erased by results in 2014 and especially 2015.

Currently CFB has several has-been or never-was programs ranked in top 25 - ultimately 2013 is just 1 season and does not predict the future of Tennessee football.

Personally,I am very glad that Josh and Mr. and Mrs. Malone have taken this slow process to Josh's recruitment. If he signs with our beloved UT,it will mean so much more than a whirlwind weekend;it will mean a thorough recruiting process by Butch and all the other coaches involved.Remember, this is Josh's future he is contemplating and he is working to the absolute best for him and his future. With that out of the way,Josh, come be a VFL!!!

Some of you guys need a reality check. This guy isn't more important than Saturday. We have never lost 8 games in a season. Sure a 5-7 season isn't anything to be proud of, but in 30 years still being able to say we haven't lost 8 is. I believe Josh will be a stud in college, but putting one kid above the whole is ridiculous.

You can land all of the Josh Malone's you want, but if you can't coach a Croom into being a good football player then we will never win with this staff. Not saying this staff is bad either.

Croom is only a redshirt freshman. And they've only had about 6 months to work with him. So I haven't given up on their ability to coach him up.

Me neither..... as depth. Pearson and, if we get him, Malone, will move him out of the starting lineup immediately. Btw, while we're talking about WRs who will no longer start, Josh Smith should be given and apple and a roadmap detailing the shortest distance on how to get to Carson-Newman.
