Not a good sign IMO. If we had him wrapped up like I thought weeks ago we wouldn't need to send that many coaches on a game weekend.

We need to knock the visit out of the park to win this IMO

I am thinking that they are all there to try to convince Josh and his parents that the offense will improve. I agree Bruin, I believe the Vandy debacle and the Clemson visit has made it not so much a 'sure thing' anymore.

If UT gets Josh, I believe this could be as big (or bigger) a save as bringing Hurd into the fold.

Josh Malone's recruitment is more important than to the future of UTs program than the Kentucky game. I wouldn't care too much if the staff handed off the Ky game to the grad assistants and spent Saturday at the Malone house too if it meant they closed the deal with Josh.

My goodness if we can somehow pull Malone and adoree.... Would be so awesome.

Just hope it doesn't end up like bell/Lawson from last year. We had hope of big boomage and ended with neither

The good news is we are IN this Big Time....if not we would not have taken the jet, nor sent half the staff LOL

I see this as a real battle, and think the QB situation along with poor offensive performance has hurt us but am hopeful they are down there telling Josh that we have a QB who has all the tools (Ferg)

We all knew this from earlier reports throughout the week following his Clemson visit. Great to see they're pulling out all the stops to get Josh.

It's also encouraging to see that the Malones are allowing CBJ and the staff into their home as many times in such a short time as they are.

Basically Malone is not showing his hand at all imo. I dont think he ever has. Butch and staff weeks ago pushed to get the signed aide so they could do just this leading to his decision.

If Josh was not still very interested in Tennessee would he even spend the day with them multiple times?

Even if we are in the lead, you do this and take no chances. There is no way on December 4th you want to look back and say, crap why didnt we go harder.

This one has never been over, but even if we had a lead, and just the fact the other coaches are getting visits is reason enough for me for this staff to go all in.

I agree we are very much in this which is great but I thought we had him for certain. The reports seem to be correct we were fooled into thinking we had it done

Bruin you are a glass half empty kinda guy aren't you? Regardless if he was locked up or not Butch is giving this all he has got. Great great sign from Butch and that we are in the home so much. Can't under estimate the number of times we will be in there.

This is how recruiting goes. Been following for years. There are times when it seems like a done deal, and then something happens. No one ever really knows until the end. I think our lack of offense is a concern. We always seem to get the raw deal with guys like this. But, I think location may win out in the end, and I think the Malones can see the vision for the program. Just a feeling with no info.

This. We're leaving no doubt. In recruiting, you recruit to the end. Even with guys that are locks.

Yes you recruit to the end for sure but IMO you don't send the entire staff unless you feel you have a serious sell job to present. If CBJ and 1 or 2 more were going I wouldn't think it told us much

When you are one of two schools left, you do what it takes. Also, it is only 3 hours from your game. So, it is not an inconvenience. Reading too much into it.

Wow! They are pulling out all the stops for this guy. I think we know who's at the top of their board. I don't know how I could say no as a recruit.

Plus, not only has UT traditionally put a ton of WRs in the NFL, but CBJ can point to a few that he has had drafted as well, from lower level schools who were featured in HIS offense ... Thompkins at New England and Brown at Pittsburgh.

Why would the outcome of either game affect Josh's decision?

Just curious because his recruitment has always been described as so mature / low key / methodical that I would not think 1 weekend's games could ultimately help decide his choice.

I thought it would be based more on the people and feeling than 2013 results.

If we do indeed get Malone, let's hope that one of our QB's on the roster can develop some skills to get him the ball, otherwise it's kind of a moot point
