Right, and technically that is true, but you are suggesting he isn't as good as advertised, which I think is pretty silly to conclude at this point.
To say nothing of the absolute trash squads Bray was playing in his freshman starts.
Don't even begin to put Dobbs in the same category of passing talent as Bray. Like him or not, he could make any throw as a freshman. It took Manning 3-4 years to be able to make some of the throws that Bray made as a freshman.
This. The Memphis and Ole Miss squads were pretty damn bad that year. Anyone remember the 80 yd TD to Hunter against Ole Miss. The one where Bray threw a slant straight to the Miss LB, it bounced off his face, Hunter grabs it and runs 80 yds. That read and throw we're every bit as bad if not worse than Dobbs against Vandy. I'm not saying Dobbs is Bray, he's not. But Bray wasn't anywhere near as good as his stats were as a freshman.
1) Nobody said he could make all the throws Bray could. But don't compare Mr. Skeleton statue Bray to Dobbs and completely dismiss Dobb's Mobility. The Johnny Football spin move Dobbs made before taking off for a big gain against Vandy....Bray would have been dead in the water on that play.
2) The comment you just made regarding Bray and Peyton Manning might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. No offense, I just know no other way to put it.
Riley is still the QB of the future IMO. This spring will be very interesting. It's going to be a wide open battle between all three QB's. I like Dobbs and he definitely has skills and potential but from what you hear from people close to the staff who are around the program a lot it sure seems like they feel Riley has by far the most talent and ability.
Don't tell the FF that. Their memory sucks, apparently.

Dobbs mobility does not mean squat in the scheme of things for a QB. It sure did not win us any football games.
If a QB can't throw the ball, he might as well not be out there.
That is a fact that Manning could not make many of the throws that ray could, until his final season at UT. Ask the guys who have been around both. Nothing stupid about fact.
I agree. Plus, IMO Dooley flat out inherited a much better roster than Jones did. I'm not saying he inherited a loaded roster by any means but it was definitely better than the one he left behind for Jones.
I'd argue the OL was every bit as bad as any of the other units, despite the mysterious hype that surrounded them all season. I've never seen so many off-tackle runs get stopped for a 3 yard loss.
And I agree that is with the Oline being considerably overhyped heading into the season. With all that said there is no doubt the TE play made the Oline look worse than it probably was in the run game. The TE had to have graded out at less than 10% this year on run blocking assignments. I've never seen a guy at that position get brutalized so badly week after week after week.
Lolol....if Bray and Manning came in as freshman at the same time, Bray would be holding clipboards. That's all I've got, I'm done with this rediculously insane argument.
