I want get mad and pissy if Malone goes else where but I don't and will never wish a player good luck if he goes else where. If players do not want to come to UT that is their choice but if they do not come here I do not care if they ever play a down in collage football I wish the best as far as I hope they do not get hurt but I do not want him to go to UGA and become a all SEC or great player at all.

Been too long.

Absolutely not. Malone has his games. Marquez is much better at everything he does... Malone's highlights are nowhere near as impressive as Marquez North's

And they play on two COMPLETELY different teams. Competition is also a factor. North was like half of his HS team's offense. He played outside, in the backfield, on STs, etc. Malone's HS team does not center the offense around him.

If I were an instate recruit there is no way I would waste an official visit on an in state school. That's probably a visit he can afford. As long as we get a visit (unofficial or official) we can get backin the game. He probably wants to see the product on th field too. I know I do!

There you go again bringing facts and logic into the discussion smh

Station Camp does not have the offense nor the QB who can get the ball to him in space down the field. He has to take advantage of reverses, punt and kick returns.

I know. Honestly, is the Drae Bowles situation that much different? His HS was not good, and he played on a team that did not value getting him the ball as much as they should. Yet, since Bowles was all Vol for a while, everyone loved him no matter what. Malone is in the same situation, but because he's not only seriously considering UT, he's not any good, he's overrated, etc.

Statistically, I don't know the answer, but I'd venture to say that comparatively, Bowles was equally as unimpressive out of HS.

That is the problem with so many high schools in Tennessee. They are coached by inept coaches who can not figure out how to get the ball to great athletes or develop QBs who have some decent skills. As a result so many do not even get a shake at playing college ball.

Malones coach is a UT grad iirc.

You know....this one actually kinda made sense.

Keep drinking man and come back in an hour and try it again.

Enjoy it. It ends too soon. I'm studying for the bar exam at the moment....assuming I pass, I expect to have much less time to patrol these boards in the future. :/

Good luck Vol. as far as time for VN.... have your secretary put it in your schedule.

It seems like every year there are a few prospects that leave the state and if Malone commits elsewhere (which IMO FWIW I think he will) then it what it is. You can't hate the kid for making an informed and intelligent decision. You do recruit him until he calls it for someone---I'd say locking up a good percentage of this states prospects is doing what you need to do to lock the state down recruiting wise. Bars, Bruno and Malone (if he's truly a lean elsewhere) have to do what's best for them--period.

Butch Jones will likely continue to recruit Malone hard, but he can not wait around and allow other top WRs to go elsewhere. If Malone wants to come to UT, Butch will save a spot for him. If he does not, Butch will give that spot to another well-deserving player. Everyone comes away happy.

You and I think like that, but not Josh. It is important to him. I asked Brent if Josh Dobbs or Riley Ferguson impressed him-that they were a tear ahead of Josh and should be in position to throw to him. He was not impressed. he really wants to go int with a class with a hot shot QB alongside.

I haven't kept up that well but did David Cornwell choosing Bama over us have an impact on him cooling off on us? It seems like about the same timeframe.

Kick rocks, deuces brah.

J.k. If he actually wanted to be here, it would be sweet but he has googly eyes for bruins and the dawg uglies. UCLA is my final prediction for Joshua

I don't think it's likely that he commits now with Booth, Jackson, and Lauderdale on board... but having those guys already is the reason why it might just happen. That class would be SICK and he knows it. Last year 3 receivers (Hunter, Patterson and Rogers) all performed at high levels together. Obviously, there are other potentially great receivers already on the team (North and Croom for sure) but who knows... They don't call us WRU for nothing!
