I have his dad pin pointed down to two old team mates of mine. I do not know the mother. Both guys are quality character guys, so the apple does not fall far from the tree.

Missouri offered and 247 reports Coach Beaty from TAMU visited him yesterday.

I feel okay with where we are, but the ND visit worried me. Plus, why go talk academic stuff if you are leaning to Tennessee? I think we're in a good spot, but this will be a huge fight.

While this guy definitely knows his x's and o's... everyone should remember that this was written after Butch's first year, when his team struggled a bit. This would be the equivalent of one of us evaluating Dooley's offense after his first year, or any year for that matter. He definitely seems to favor Brian... but at that point in time who wouldn't?

While the article was written after Butch's first year, I gathered that he liked Butch quite a bit after reading all 3 parts. I especially liked the bottom line:

Talks about his latest offer from Arky. Here is a recap.

There is one concern with Arkansas. First-year head coach Bret Bielema, who left Wisconsin for Arkansas following last season, is known for running the football first and often.

"Yeah, a little bit," Malone said when asked if that was worrisome. "But they're probably going to have to make Coach Chaney stop throwing it because that's all they did at Tennessee last year. But it does worry me just watching Wisconsin last year with the power run offense."

Malone visited Notre Dame last weekend. When asked what stood out about the school, he said, "The academic value and the vertical offense that they run."

There have been rumors that Malone was leaning towards committing to Tennessee, especially since the Volunteers have been hot on the recruiting trail lately. Those close to Malone have said that's not the case. While Tennessee is certainly in play, it appears Malone will continue to take a methodical approach to his recruitment.

Just curious. Where did the rumors of his mother wanting him to go out of state come from? The recruiting services all lead me to believe we are in pretty good shape

I wouldn't put too much stock in the mom comments IMO... If Josh likes UT, which it appears he does, I think he ends up signing with us. He is also friends with a lot of our current commits. His reviews of the other schools he has visited haven't seemed to be too enthusiastic.

I'm saying that I went to school and played football and basketball with his dad. It's one of two former team mates for sure.

Not trying to beat a dead horse here... but how do you know you played with him, but not know which one it is?
