That's a good point but I still don't think he deserves to be called stupid for it. You can say whatever about his judgement and attitude but he never failed any classes so he isn't stupid.

He actually was well spoken and articulate. Not a dumb guy but no genius either.

I could easily see Powell as our 3rd RB too. We have do-it-all Hurd, powerful bowling ball Paulk, and then if we got a 3rd back I bet he fits the exact mold of Powell. Smaller, quick, shifty back.

I could see him as a slot WR too though.

Paulk seems more like a scat back than a power back IMO

Very quick in his film

From some of the things I have read it almost sounds like Butch will change his offense to what he has got. I remember hearing about how we are gonna use more two TE sets. TE's have mentioned it and it was in Hurd's thread too. May see more Patriot type offense.

Been saying that about the Patriots offense every time someone mentions oregon

I would if I was wrong. Double AA isn't the MLB and practice squad isn't the NFL

He wasn't signed to the practice squad so spin as you wish but I will say I don't care if I'm on the practice squad or not, you can pay me all day long to sit on a bench and NOT get hit. Backup QB is the job to have.

If you are on the roster (and he is), you are still a NFL player, practice squad or not. They don't sign the practice squad till making the final cuts in the preseason. I don't think he will make it tho. Hard to make an impression when your knee isn't healthy.

Paulk's power will shock some people. I think he could be a 5'9 220lb Darren Sproles type back. He will truck some folks given the chance to do it.

I was actually going to use sproles as an example...one of my favorite players when he played for my chargers....sproles can run between the tackles but was a good 3rd down back and ran better outside....but he only weighed 180

Paulk is no scat back. I agree he is quick but he runs with more power than any back on our current roster.

I just didnt see anything that suggested that in his film.....he seemed very shifty......and I wouldnt count out lane, hill, or maybe smith be more powerful but paulk might be more powerful pound for pound

Matter of opinion. I wouldn't characterize someone as in the league unless they were actually contributing to the team's success. Maybe Brown will in the future. Still doesn't take away that he was a bust in college (not on the same level as guys like Ambles or Prater though).

Yeah, Sproles is shorter than Paulk. Maybe 5'6 I would guess. That is why I said 5'9 220 for Paulk. He cuts back well, and looks to see the lanes very well. I think he will have a lot of running over people highlights now that he is the #1 back his SR year in HS.

You're not in the league until you make a 53 man roster.

Gotcha....u may be correct considering his purpose mightve been to.be.a change of pace back since they already had barber as a bruiser....ill just have to wait and see

He failed multiple drug tests. After the first one and you don't stop, it is not the most intelligent thing to continue smoking knowing the consequences

This assumes he knew there were consequences.

The rumors were that Dooley was still trying to keep him enrolled even after the hammer came down and that the weed was the least of his issues.

I realize Dooley has sort of become the scapegoat for everything but if the shoe fits...

The fact that you start your statement with "the rumors were" should tell you the validity of your statement. I'm sure Dooley did whatever he could to get Da'Rick to stay because he was the most talented player on our roster. Past weed the only real problem Da'Rick was alledged to have was an attitude problem, though that was more smoke than anything else and though he was outspoken he wasn't nearly as attitude/ego driven as what some on here would like to make it seem.

Perhaps the best wr coach we've had who also coached Randy Moss couldnt deal with him. Id say thats pretty terrible.

If you've talked to any of the players on the team that dealt with him, you would know it's a good bit more than smoke. Constant disrespecting/cursing coaches, carrying cell phone to practice and checking twitter during drills, etc. His talent was undeniable, but couldn't get out of his own way either at UT or Tech.
