I can respect competitive athletes that want the program they are involved with to win. A few winning seasons in the upcoming years and early commitments will be the norm for us. I am proud of where this staff is headed and I feel that they are representing the school (brand) well.

Seriously, it's unreal how the schedule has been set up against this team. No reason it should be like that. This playoff system is going to be so much better for college football. It's time to separate the pretenders from the real championship caliber teams.

4 team playoff will only help those 1 loss teams, but I agree. The SEC office needs to examine UGAs cake walk every year instead of killing us.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what they could do about it though. It's proven to be very cyclical in nature, and by trying to proactively mess with the schedule you could very well mess that up an give somebody the short end of the stick for an extended period of time. For example when Bama was down we had some years where our western conference opponents were not very impressive. 2003 in particular featured a 4 win Alabama team, a 2 win Mississippi State team, and a 7-5 Auburn team.

Unfortunately with how it's currently configured Georgia has the perennial long end of the stick. That's messed up

Nobody I'm the country had the schedule we've had for several years.. If we had an avg sec schedule the past few years, CDD would still be here. This is a tough job right now.

Not really. They've got Auburn as their permanent cross division rival who has been down the past couple of years, but there is too much talent in that state for them to be kept down for long. Then they rotate through the other opponents, for example they have to play at LSU this year. I mean yes, they have had an easier schedule these past couple of years though. This year with them playing Clemson nonconference and LSU as one of their west division opponents they will have one of the tougher schedules.

LSU is at UGA.

Scout.com: Malone detects 'tighter atmosphere'

Paraphrase:

-Different atmosphere at UT, coaches showed a lot of love

-All the recruits were using the word "swagger" when referring to UT.

-Met and talked to Ryan Jenkins and Marquez North, and also coach Z

-Liked the basketball game, but was nothing compared to the UT/FLA game last year

-All schools are even, none standing out among others

Ever looked at Bama's BS schedule? How they were ranked ahead of Florida late in the year after a loss was ridiculous.

Yes.

But to be clear, most of these kids will be making business decisions (ala Bell) - they can put aside their fandom and choose a school based on their long term goals - NFL/Championships/etc.

Sadly, just being a fan of UT and growing up liking the Vols isn't enough anymore.

business decisions ut has alot of players in NFL and 6 were in pro bowl, and UT just need to get high quality football players to come here and get the team better so they can mention championships and UT.but there is not alot of teams that can even come close to gaurentee championships .not even UGA CAN CLAIM chaimpionships too often.only BAma lately can mention championships and NFLat same time'

Is Mr. Malone planning on making a smart business decision? Then he only has to look at which school has the history of putting great wide receivers in the NFL and I can tell you that it is not Alabama.

I'm saying these kids have seen Tennessee as a 5-7 team for 2 straight years. That's why they are apprehensive about just committing.

I understood. Pointing out we should be in better shape by November. In the eyes of the recruits

Ever thought about back to back 5-7 records worrying them?

Why would it? They're just worried about that happening to them.. An if they weren't scared of our schedule, they wouldn't be worried about it.. They'll just play somewhere like osu, and be guaranteed 10 wins.

They just watched Auburn go 3-9 and they still loaded up again even through a coaching change.

I know they won a ship 3 years ago, so that may be different. But still..a 3-9 season didn't hurt them much.
