Urban is going to get a lot of players that he wants...

he will win big at OSU and get the several NC games because of their scheduling and conference.

Even if he doesn't win them all he has to sell a guy like Hurd on is - "With you in the backfield we would have won the NC" - kids will listen to that.

I hate to say it, but my opinion is that Hurd doesn't not go to UT - i sure hope I am wrong.

I sure hope Butch and co can get a lot of instate kids signed on and that is enough to make Hurd want to join them and change the face and direction of UT.

Just not feeling optimistic now - hope that will change.

Urban needs to have some time with his family, he needs to retire again, maybe a bowl loss against a SEC team will push him out again.

Question No. 1: Which prospect who missed out on five-star status generated the most discussion/argument among the analysts?

Mike Farrell, National/Mid-Atlantic: There were plenty of them, but I'll say running back Jalen Hurd was probably one of the ones discussed the most. He's a great athlete and a terrific running back, but he has that upright style that makes you wonder if he'll be a star at the next level. And five-stars are projected as sure-fire talents at their positions and Hurd could be in a discussion like we had with Derrick Henry this past year.

When talking abouthow much Urban will win at MSU I think they are too quick to forget about Hoke.

i dont think he comes here, but its nice to hear that he is at least open about not coming here versus pulling a Vonn.

i think this is the same song and dance every year, how many games do we win, and how does that project to help us in recruiting. If we don't pull off some big shockers this year its going to be hard to appease these kids to come here. I think urban will use Hurd as the prime example as why they don't win NC, and he would be right.

Total rationalization for a bad rating by Farrell. Eric Dickerson laughs at you, Mike.

Your "man love" for CUM is freightening.

Doesn't not go to UT? Got to love double negatives.

This is pretty negative, but at the same time we can't blame you. The Vols have missed out on the RB prospects we have gone after for 2 years in a row. Literally struck out on 7-8 RB's in a row. If we can make a bowl this year, recruiting will be on the rise again. Another 5-7 season will just dig the hole deeper.

Thanks for your insight there, Champ. But don't you not think its a bit early maybe to make possible "gut feeling" assessments, maybe?

Can't stand him. But hard not to imagine him doing well there.

Sure, he has a soft schedule. Completely agree there. But, until he beats the given SEC team in the NC, I won't be impressed. He doesn't have the staff he had at FL, and he doesn't have Tebow. I think he's a great coach, so I won't take that away from him. But, until he wins without one of arguably the best college players in history, I'll continue to be critical.

The point is, he will consistently get there. Which means he will consistently get his pick of recruits. Especially over us until we prove otherwise.

Butch and staff got some claws into him and i'm sure they are not going to give up...Lets hope he come to UT and gives us that big punch that We need...Get the right pieces in place and Butch and crew will have us rocking again...I have no doubts
