But, the Vols had kept in contact since his stellar camp performance where he logged several 4.4 second 40-yard dashes and impressed with his coverage ability. That led to Tuesday night when he received a call from Vols' defensive backs coach Willie Martinez.
"I had just went to grab some food and I had got home and was talking to my mom and coach Martinez called me and I actually had to stop my mom from talking and I answered the phone," Moseley said. "His first question was, 'Do you want to be a Vol?'
"And it was an automatic yes."
"I ran a good 40-yard dash so all the coaches came over there and they all had their timers, and even the head coach with his timer came over there," Moseley said. "They looked at each other and coach (Tommy) Thigpen gave me the thumbs up like I did pretty good."
"When I went there this summer I fell in love," Moseley said. "I like how coach Martinez directs his players and how he coaches them. When I walked to the stadium to begin one-on-ones I said, 'This is where I need to be.'" "It's crazy. It's unbelievable," Moseley said. "It hasn't even kicked in yet."
