'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

Again I say please stay at Auburn Malzahn. He scares the shiz out of bammers.

Well, first of all Texas has a headcoach and he has yet to be fired or announce his retirement. If he gets them to 10 wins with after their bowl, he won't be going anywhere.

Second, yall don't know Gus Malzahn very well. This guy voluntarily cut his salary in half to become the head coach at Arkansas State. He just completed his third coaching change in as many years. I have every reason to believe that he will want to enjoy his success at Auburn for a few years before even thinking about moving to a new job. Maybe Texas will hire James Franklin...

Lol. Malzhan made a move to Arky State because of the Jovon Robinson transcript situation. Had nothing to do with him not caring about the money.

Cam sutton was already committed to TN before butch. Auburn came hard after coaching change and almost flipped him. Butch in home sealed deal for TN. You are thinking about Riyahd Jones and Lemond Johnson

Auburn wanted and still wants McDowell bad.

Butch's in-homes seem to have that effect. He might be a Jedi.

But I think the opposite could be true as well. McCarron could win elsewhere too.

I agree, McCarron's a good QB. But he's certainly replaceable. Saban has a 5 star committed this class and one already committed for next class. Good to great QB's line up to play for him. But they're all replaceable.

While past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results... there might be a pattern here.

Homeowners who have already had a housefire are more likely to have a second housefire (compared to all homeowners having a single fire).

My point is, at best, these guys will be AS successful AJ. They won't be better.

And chances are they'll be worse.

You may well be right, but we have all seen 4 & 5 star QBs utterly fail.

Other factors that may lead to Saban leaving are his feeling, expressed by his wife, that they are feeling unappreciated (right now some delusional fans are bashing him for not winning them another national champuunship); his legendary status for consecutive number of championships has disappeared; and he can no longer expect Auburn to get off his lawn.

Don't get me wrong, I hope Saban leaves and I do think he will. Hopefully it's announced today, sooner the better.

I would honestly want him to stay so that Butch can bash his teeth in....then he can leave.

That would work too. I'm just so tired of hearing about Saban and Bama. Let him go to some washed up conference that no one cares about anymore. And most important of all, let Bama make a bad hire or two so those fans can enjoy the taste of mediocrity for awhile.

The Texas job is a good old boy-shake Big Jim's hand political booster jubilee...think Gus's clinically insane wife fits down there?...I'll hang up and use the bathroom :)

I agree. Saban to Texas and Malzahn staying at Auburn would really make the Bama fans lose their minds for years to come. Hopefully they make at least 2 bad hires and are down for awhile. I would enjoy that immensely.

Happened with Dennis Francione and Mike Shula, enjoyed that tremendously as well

I've talked to several Bama fans that I know personally, and they feel like if Saban does end up leaving, that they will ultimately hire Kirby Smart as Saban's replacement. Personally, I would love that because I wouldn't be surprised if Smart ends up being another Will Muschamp. There's only one Nick Saban, his disciples have proven that they're not on his level.

Track record indicates you may be right. After Bear, Bama thought they could hire Bryant assistant's and keep on rolling. That did not work out so well. Most likely they would promote Kirby to HC so we will see. Like Bear, Saban will be a tough act to follow.

Also, forgot to mention in earlier discussion that Nussmeyer is real candidate for Washington HC. That would be three different OCs in two years for Saban.
