'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

Auburn has finished in top 10 in recruiting 4 straight years. It has one of the best game day atmospheres in the nation. The SI writer acts like it is Vandy.

How badly did Aub pursue him really?
I know he just visited for the Aub/Bama game so maybe they do really want him...never heard too much on it though.

He never visited. That rumor was shot down almost immediately. This is typical 247. They also started the Derek Barnett to Vandy rumors because of Mike Sawyers committing to them. Keith thinks everyone wants to go to Auburn now because of the season they are having and he's been throwing rumors like these around non-stop about all kinds of prospects.

Should post a bigger homer article next time.

J/K, but seriously.

Thought it was a good point by point response to Thamel. If someone wants to speculate about a biased article why not present a rebuttal? BTW, Thamel had a great time with Finebaum yesterday rehashing his story.

Again I say please stay at Auburn Malzahn. He scares the shiz out of bammers.

I agree. Saban to Texas and Malzahn staying at Auburn would really make the Bama fans lose their minds for years to come. Hopefully they make at least 2 bad hires and are down for awhile. I would enjoy that immensely.

would be awesome. ive had to live around the bammers my whole life. the best thing about them losing is i don't have to see all the bama flags on cars. its been nice and quiet this week.

....and the other nice thing WE don't have to play Auburn every year.

There's a lot of Talent in Texas but I heard something about recruits from Texas that made alot of since to me. All of the football players in Texas are coached and trained at an elite level for high school. So when a kid is coming out of Texas and has been in a college level S&C program since middle school, it kind of a what you see is what you get.(As far as physical strength goes, not coaching)

I heard a Texas beat writer on a radio show one time and he said something similar. He said that kids in Texas work their behinds off to get an offer from Texas because that is every high school kid in Texas dream. So once they get that they feel a little entitled and don't continue to work as hard. He said Mack Brown's laid back approach was not helping with the issue.

I learned a long time ago to take everything a recruit says with a grain of salt.

The irony is that, if Lambert was an Auburn commit saying he was sticking with them, many posters would be responding that UT should move along. Further efforts to recruit him are simply a waste.

You guys are oblivious if you don't see that Auburn always does this to us

I'll give you Blair

Cad Williams, Ronnie Brown, Gabe Wright, Carl Lawson, Lemonier, Whitaker - the list goes on and on
Cam Sutton? lol Butch got him because Auburn fired their staff and we hired 2 Aub guys....Thig was a steal for us though

We are batting like .150 when recruiting against Auburn historically

Cam sutton was already committed to TN before butch. Auburn came hard after coaching change and almost flipped him. Butch in home sealed deal for TN. You are thinking about Riyahd Jones and Lemond Johnson

Auburn wanted and still wants McDowell bad.

Cliffs from Cowherd on ESPN (very similar to what I heard last night) -

Got some calls that TX big wigs REALLY saban and feel they may can entice him out. He called several sources and tried to confirm that saban was responsive. He could not get 2 sources to confirm that. Knows without a doubt saban is the big money choice and they will go after him.

Then says Carroll had it going then lost a QB he could not quite replace and the neighborhood got tougher with Stanford and Oregon.

Mack had a QB he couldn't replace with McCoy and the neighborhood got tougher with OK State, Baylor.

Meyer had a QB he couldn't replace with Tebow and then saban made things tougher.

Now saban has a QB he may not replace and Gus has made the neighborhood much tougher.
