'14 F VA Jabari McGhee (UT commit 5/2/14)

He's much lower rated than some of our previous commits.

That being said, I think he's a good player and will be a solid contributer eventually and possibly next year.

Just don't understand the bashing of the kids we previously had committed who were rated much higher and the widespread acceptance of this kid being a quality pick up. I understand CDT is limited in who is available.

The answer most likely lies in the current program leadership vs the former. If Tyndall is bringing this type kid in three years from now, and has little postseason success to show for it, the natives will be restless. He gets a pass this late in the game of year 1.

I get that. Just playing a little devil's advocate.

Really impressed with his athletic ability and for a 6'7" guy he has good ball handling skills too. Welcome aboard big fella!

And Georgia, Auburn, and Ole Miss, but please, pick out the offers that support your doomsday argument. It's May 2014...LeBrons and Kobes aren't available.

The fact this has to be said says a lot about the intelligence level of our fan base. We need to start a new forum called the 'petition forum'. Goofs like this guy, boobcat, and the other guy hanging from boobcat's pair of raisins can get together and talk about how running coaches out every 3 years is good for the program.

That a new alternative band? :)

Janis was one of my favorites back in my younger days. I still listen to her on CD's, makes me feel young again! She was from Texas in case you didn't know and she sung what I called a "Blues-Rock".

Edit: I almost forgot, BOOOOMMM!! for Jabari!

Since when does supporting a recruit equate to anything having do with CCM?

You're not talking about me as the other guy are you?

I am no basketball expert, but he kind of reminds me of a poor man's CJ Fair who just exhausted his eligibility at Syracuse. Kind a 3/4 tweener who likes to slash towards the basket and can run the floor. If he can develop a mid range jumper like Fair had he could be a solid contributor IMO.

Pretty easy tie in. Certain fans apparently find reasons to be unhappy regardless of what happens with our basketball team. Coach wins 20 games and takes the team to the sweet 16, sign a petition to replace him with a guy who got us on sanctions to begin with. New coach comes in with very little time left on the clock to recruit players. Gets a commit. Fans crap all over the commit because he's not a 5 star McDonald's all American. Basically it shows a lack of intelligence and understanding of how recruiting, an athletic department, finances, and pretty much any other area in life works.

Jabari's game reminds me of Cofer's. They both love dunking, shot blocking and rebounding. Hope Cofer still wants in

If you don't understand it then gtfo? Much better player than he was rated. Can't teach that height/athleticism.

Height? He is a 6'6 Power Forward? Doesn't scream Giant in my opinion. I could be wrong, just know Duke, KU, Kentucky, Florida put their 6'6 players at Guard!

Oh My apologies, I thought we were talking basketball not football. I didn't know Georgia, Auburn and Ole Miss were big time barn burning programs and battling in the sweet 16 anytime recently. That's awesome man, I hope we continue to fight the nobodies of the SEC basketball for players, I see us cutting down the nets in 2015, thanks for clearing everything up for me! I just bought my plane ticket for Indy in 2015. I can't WAIT!
