Does the fact that he's originally from IL help us at all? IL isn't exactly close to UT, unless you compare it to the distance from CA to TN.

It said in the article that he is from "southern Illinios" so just as a guess I google mapped how far Southern Illinios U is from Knoxville, only a 5 1/2 Hr drive. Closer than I am from Knoxville in Charleston, SC.

Compare that to Gainesville, Southern Cal, LSU, Michigan and Texas A&M (the other teams listed as warm on 247).

UF - 11 1/2 Hrs
LSU - 9 Hrs
UCLA and Southern Cal - 28 Hrs
Michigan - 8 Hrs
A&M - 12 Hrs

So for him, we are by far the closest to his original home of the major colleges he is considering right now.

He also said he wanted to play for a coaching staff that was honest...I believe that immediately rules out Kiffin. Does anyone know how long he has lived in Cali?

Only two colleges with honest staff in the above listed group. I like our chances :)

People worried about his UOV to USC should look up Jalen Ramsey and Alvin Kamara. Both visited their home state schools like crazy but signed elsewhere. Plus Kiffin is on the wrong end of negative recruiting these days.

Good comparison, BB. We will see this class just how good of recruiters Kiffin and his staff are. They have no ammunition to negative recruit against anyone, and they don't have any good results from last year to sell. Plus, everyone else will be negative recruiting them, and telling recruits that he will be fired if they have another average season.
